Whats the best benchmade edc...

That's like asking Ginger or MaryAnn. Blondes or Brunettes. Pilsner or Stout.

My two cents.

Why don't you like the D2? It is right there at the cutoff for a stainless steel and in my experience doesn't stain with normal use. Even M4 which has significantly less chromium doesnt stain much in my experience and would take a night in a wet pocket to see some staining. Even if there was some staining a metal polished rubbed on the blade with a finger for a couple minutes has removed anything I have ever had developed and the blade retains the original finish.

It can be a little harder to sharpen if you let it get real dull but I find if I strop it on the days I use it, it stays sharp. If I use it enough that the strop doesn't help, then a quick touch up on the Sharp maker and it is tree topping sharp again. It might not be a new 'super steel' but it holds an edge a heck of a lot longer than your average steel. Which is why it is probably a little harder to get sharp. But I find the above touch up process will keep just about any knife close to an EDC scalpel. The M4 and 20CP blades in my pocket right now can both be placed against a standing arm hair of your choice and cut it in half with the hair sticking in the air. The tree topping sharp I spoke of before. I have had some new razor blades that I have had a hard time doing the same thing with.

Sorry for rambling. Just wanted to say D2 isn't that bad and just about any steel can be kept sharper than new with just 2 or 3 minutes on the days you use your knife. Good luck with your decision!

Gonna go with the 940 and ill buy the 707 sequel

Good choice! Personally, I don't notice much of a difference in pocket over an ounce or two, let alone a fraction of an ounce! :D

Yeah I know I'm not really hating on it in fact I really liked the mini bone collector with walnut handle but do you think it would make a good hunting knife,or a collector.I can't really say much about it cause I don't own it.I don't know might get it its a really beautiful folder but either the Osborne 940 and the sequel or the 940 and mini bone collector?Theres so many too choose from really hard to make up my mind

I'm throwing in a monkey wrench, my BM fav, 755 MPR, oh yes super steel and super tank like build...

I recently purchased my first BM and went with the 707. I really like the size and weight for an EDC blade. And the axis lock is also really nice. It's my only BM but I handled and looked at quite a few before deciding on the 707.

Own a lot of knives, my overall favourite is my 707. Might look into the 940 though, realy cool knife. But still, 707 rocks for EDCing.

I really like the size, shape, and features of the 707. I just wish it came with a better steel option. M4 would be great, even though 154cm is still good. Maybe I'm just being a snob :)

The Bone Collector is an excellent knife and D2 steel is a great steel that gets sharp pretty easy, holds its edge for a long time, and is fairly easy to keep up.
The BM Bone Collector would make a great hunting knife as that's what they were built for. The Bone Collector is a knife made for hunting and I have no doubts that it would do the job well.
D2 steel has become used in a few hunting knives. Such as Dozier's knives. He is know for his use of D2. And a lot of his knives are skinner types.

I would definitely pick one up if I were you. They're indeed great knives.

Based on your described requirements, 707 is probably the way to go.

I'm focused on my EDC being light, thin and generally pocket-friendly, and I love my 707. I've bought many knives attempting to replace my 707, just to mix things up, yet it's the 707 that's usually in my pocket . . .

Damn too bad you hate the 530, so damn light and thin with plenty of blade for edc.
