What's the BEST KNIFE DEAL You Ever Got?

It happens. Sometime a dealer doesn't know his stock, or someone somewhere decides to sell a huge inventory at cost or even below. Then there are estate sales, pawn shops where a knife is somewhat more than it appears. Then there's eBay.

Just a few months ago, I found a place selling the CRKT S-2 with a 4-inch ATS-34 blade and titanium handle for $25! (I bought seven!). And I bought three Cold Steel Voyagers (LARGE), with 4-inch blades, for $25 apiece new in the box.

But sometimes someone gets a deal that makes other grown men cry. It's a deal of the Century -- and one you don't suspect you'll ever top if you live to be 120.

Any stories out there?

Nothing amazingly spectacular, but I got a brand new Large Micarta Sebenza for $365 - about a hundred dollars less than the MSRP.

custom damascus sebbie with MOP inlay and unique graphic for 30% off of the $700 dollar price tag, at the Chesapeake knife and tool going out of business sale. I consider that a great deal on a full custom sebbie. :)

I also got a Nemesis knives arch-ally for $35 at the same store a few days before it closed.

You certainly did okay on the Columbia River S-2's. If I remember correctly they were titanium handled, ATS34, frame lock, and retailed for about $100.

I did a search and found the following listing.

While I'm not a great fan of most S&W knives I did get a few that were well made, 440-C blades, anodized blue lightweight aluminum handles, tight and edge holding. The price was very good for a knife with all these attributes. I have no involvement with this listing.

The best deal I ever got was a Spyderco Civilian and SS ATR for $195. Free shipping (normally $23.95 to Canada), then they decided to throw in a pouch for the Civi and a Vagabond too!

A Bob Dozier Model 6 in Burgundy Micarta. I got it for free from Don Adelfson. THANKS DON!

Best I can think of right now is my $30.00 spyderco Navigator with VG-10

was the one I got today: RTAK, like new for $60.00; awesome blade. Also got a CRKT Crawford folder NIB (closeout) for $25.00; there's more, but I still have those.

I have had a few good deals over the years but a couple that come to mind would are a Puma 8" bowie in the wooden presentation case fro 40 pounds, a South African made, mint,Chris Reeve Jeramboam AU$200 and an 1832 French short sword/sidarm for 50 pounds. My dad also piced up a Caron steel SOG tigershark fo AU$40..

An Opinel for 10$. Not less than what you'd normally pay, but I think it's a steal for what you get and how well it does its job. You can keep your titanium, wood feels a lot better. :)

Yep, it was the 7502, on sale at your link for $71—and I got mine for $24.95, so yeah it was a bargain. These things happen, of course, and when you get a shot at a bargain, it's always great when you win out.

I've posted this pic before but I found this bolo at a flea market and paid 7 bucks for it. Blade is approx 9.5" 1/4 " thick with pinned water buffalo handles.

Back when the original Rigid Knives went out of business, I got one of their "Black Feathers" from one of the Tennessee-based mail order companies that is now out of business. I don't know how much I paid for it, but given the time frame it would have to have been under $20 or I could not have afforded it.

Best Deals I've gotten so far:

1)LNIB CS Laredo Bowie for $120 shipped. Turned around and sold it on eBay for $185.
2)NIB Benchmade 551 (440C) for $45 shipped.
3)Used Leatherman Wave (Old Style) for $37 shipped.
Working on another one right now...

Early model Benchmade Elishewitz Stryker for $1.00 in great condition, Spyderco Delica ATS-55 for $3.00, tip slightly broken off, easy fix with on the Dremel, antique Moro Barong $20.00.

Matador-

Last Christmas Wal-Mart was selling the Buck 110 in a gift tin for about $20.00 dollars--truely an awesome deal!
I bought two of them and I should have bought three.

I have also gotten some great deals on the trade forums.
