What's the best sub- $100 FIXED blade out there?

Ok gang I decided on these 2 since they are both under $100

Becker Companion Bk2

Rat RC5

That RAT seems to be about $30 more but has a better handle. Most people seem to be going aftermarket on the handles for the BK2. I love the size of these knives, exactly what im looking for.

thoughts?

You can't go wrong with either one, IMO.

Good luck.

If I were buying a ~$100 fixed blade for general use, hunting, etc I'd consider the previously mentioned Falkniven F-1.
If you seriously want a serrated fixed blade then I recommend that you look at the Spyderco Aqua Salt (H-1 Steel, Spyderco serrations)

Completely forgot about the Salt. Amazing knives!!!

surprised that the kabar marine fighting knife has been passed over...you can get it partially serrated, it's 1095, and it's been proven over and again in every real world "hard use" situation I can think of! Good luck!
OH! and it comes in two sizes, that's something too! :D

The Spyderco Moran is a great knife with VG-10 steel for around $75 bucks.

how hard are you going to use this camp knife? and what kind of enviorment are you camping?

Backapacking. 3-4 day backpacking through Colorado in the spring and summer, also Grand Canyon and many places in AZ, mogollon Rim. Fishing etc.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Becker Companion. It seemed to be the most bang for the buck and at $50 it was not too hard to push that button ;)

esee is much better quality. in my opinion at least.

The quality of the ESEE RC-5 is better and the knife is just different. Much thicker, wider blade, as its designed as an escape/evasion tool more than a bushcraft knife.
