What's the cheapest knife that stopped your search for the ideal EDC?

I contend that, sometimes, more money spent does not necessarily please the buyer to a greater extent. I want to hear about the knives that were NOT on the high end of your budget, which found a dominant amount of time in your pockets. If your Sebenza/Griptilian/Opinel is the most expensive knife you've ever bought, and that's the one you carry, that's cool too :)
What is the most you've spent on a folder/EDC? Then, how much is the cheapest knife that suited/suits your needs enough to demand the majority of time being carried?

Most expensive: $220 (Spyderco Caly 3 Damascus, and still love it)
99% of my pocket time: Hogue EX-01 Al - $100 used

Since buying the EX-01, I have stopped looking for another EDC. You?

Carried a ~$40 Boker 8288SS pen knife for the last 10+ years. Last couple of months, it's been a ~$40 Case Baby Butterbean and a ~$30 Victorinox Farmer. I'm sure I'll carry both the Case and Vic every day well into the future.

Kershaw skyline (orange g10). doesn't mean I'm not still out buying EDC blades, but I often find that if I can't make up my mind as to what to carry on a given day, I default to the skyline.

3 knives have almost halted the search .

Strider SMF or SnG ( I have a CC SMF inbound- had a DGG SNG and SMF before)
Spyderco TUFF
Sebenza 21 (large)

I plan to get a Dalibor custom ( i have 1 year 10 months left) and to be honest- I think I will be set.

Ill pick up the odd one here and there,

the cheapest knif eI carried extensively is the Perrin PPT

Cool... Where do those knives fit into your budgeting of knife funds? Are they half the price of your most expensive folders, or 1/10th the cost?

I'm just wondering... We go out and buy some great knives, but sometimes, our daily needs are really well met at a fraction of the cost.

I've gone through cheap sanrenmus to sebenzas and settled on a green Delica 4. I sold off my collection bit have now recently started an itch for the high end knives again.

Sebenza 25 is my favorite knife to edc
Benchmade Mini Grip is a good cheapy that can do everything I need

CRK Umnumzaan, an average of about $350 used on the Exchange. I generally don't buy NEW.
I've had two Hinderers; IMO nothing beats Zaan or Sebenza. I could easily get by with a Sage 2; maybe a ZDP Stretch.
I haven't quit looking...but I have refined my Search parameters. I'd like to try a TAD sometime.
Fortunately, lots of differing opinions out there.

to clarify above, I also own a Pohl Force Mike One, Hogue EX-04, and a sprint run Spyderco Millie. I just don't see anything in my EDC cutting tasks (boxes, some wiring, packaging) that requires me to whip out a 4-inch blade. I'll carry the higher end knives for fun on any given day, but the Skyline certainly doesn't lose out on mundane tasks, is easier to carry, and is fun to flip out.

Most spent was on a ZT 560 (hideous prices over here) but eventually sold it coz I preferred my 550.

EDC is a Spyderco Byrd Tern - just a great little knife that does everything I have asked of it. I also carry a Victorinox Super Tinker everywhere.

Most I spent on a folder? 130ish I guess, BM 710 LE or Aries.
Spyderco Sage 1 gets most pocket time. With that and a PM2,
I stopped looking : )

Between my Benchmade 940 and Spyderco Caly 3.5 I'm pretty well set for EDC purposes. Bought both used off the exchange, paid $80 for the 940 and $65 for the Caly.

Most spent? $500 on my Large Sebenza 21 Insingo w/Carbon Fiber inlays. Had a few others in the range. Sold all of them to pay for medical bills. I'd say the ZT 560 series is the sweet spot for me. Not terribly expensive but still get premium materials, bearings, etc.
