What's the cheapest knife that stopped your search for the ideal EDC?

I have 3 that get edc duty consistently: Manix 2 154CM, small sebenza, XM-18 wharnclif. I've had several cheaper knifes, but I alwYs give them away. Just recently gave a Spyderco salsa to my brother in law and a lg kabar dozer to my neighbor. I think my next will be a XM 18 3' slicer grind.

So to answer the question about 100 bucks to a lot more.

Most spent? Err... $128 on a ZDP/CF Caly. My most expensive knife, however, is a brown S35VN sprint Paramilitary2 which I got in a trade.

I've never spent more than sixty-ish bucks on a knife. I've also never carried any of the knives in that range that I bought (Delica 4, three Endura 4's, one large Recon 1, two medium Recons) since they've all had design flaws not visible until in hand. All I carry now are an Alox Bantam in my wallet and a Kershaw OD-2 clipped to my right front pocket. I'll occasionally carry my XL Voyager on duty. I carried that bad boy all the time in Alaska and most of the time in Germany. So-so handle ergonomics but tolerable.

I really can't answer this question to my comfort level. I tend to not think about the cost after I own a knife for about a year, and somebody may ask what it cost and I will sort of mumble a range because I really don't remember. I have believed that I owned or purchased my "ideal" more than a couple times.....

You know, I don't think I ever really stop looking for the "ideal EDC" or ideal fixed blade. I may stop for a while, but a year later, I'm looking again.

I still carry a Vic SAK, day in day out. The other ideal knife is the one that gets changed year after year, not the SAK.

Toss-up between the CB Leek and Delica4 FFG. I paid around $40 for each. There weren't really any significant changes I would have made to either - just a couple of minor nit-picky personal preferences.

Spyderco Tenacious, as far as larger (4.25"+) go. It's in my regular rotation, even after owning 400+ knives in the last seven years.

I haven't stopped...and probably won't. That's all by definition... You're either a nut, or you aren't. I am.

My most expensive folder is a custom that I got for $500 a few years ago, my most expensive production folder is a large Sebenza that I think cost me $450 or so.

It's imposible for me to say which knife I use the most since I switch everyday and always have two folders and a SAK in my pockets, hell I even rotate the multitools in my briefcases and backpacks all the time. I guess the cheapest ones that see frequent use would be and old Endura 3 and a Vic Farmer.

First off, I will continue to buy knives until I can't for one reason or another. My most expensive knife is a William Henry at around $400ish. I carry a Leatherman Surge everyday I'm not flying and could get by with just that one tool. However, that tool always has company in my EDC system.

380$ through trade value and cash on a Strider SNG PD1, my cheapest and most carried EDC is a 23$ cold steel tuff lite though for work. Suits my purposes and tasks fine, good ergos/easy to touch up steel.

The most I've spent on a knife is about $75. This was for my Boker Rampage. I don't think this will stop my looking for a new EDC because that is something that I will always have more room to do more of, but it is for sure a very effective EDC nonetheless.

I don't think I'll ever need more than my Leek, and I paid $25 for it. Hell, I probably won't need any more than my SRM 710, and paid a third of what I paid for the Leek for that.

Of course... With the lot of us, how often is NEED the issue when we get a new knife, or ten?

For me my favourite edc is the spyderco delica 4 FFG that I have had for about a month. I have had good results with the Vg10 and the decent size with very light weight just works for me. I never even know that it's clipped to my pocket. I only paid 45 bucks for it and have been so happy with it I have been carrying it more than most of my other knives, but still buying. As far as absolute cheapest knife that I really love, it's my kershaw injection 3.0

My favorite, ideal EDC is CRK's Carbon Fiber Sebenza 21. It has a perfect balance of size, weight, strength, class, form, and function. The cheapest knifes that I EDC regularly are a Victorinox Pioneer and Benchmade 940.

Most used would be the Benchmade 910SBT, but best deal for an EDC has to be my Kershaw Leek, though I don't carry due to knife restrictions here.

The most I spent was $130 on a Benchmade Stryker 9550, but I rarely carry it due to the legality of autos.
Instead, I carried my $30 Kershaw Blackout 1550 in 440a for yeeeears. Only recently retired it after a fishing trip that wound up with small pits in the coated part of the blade. Guess fish blood is more corrosive than salt water?

Although I gotta say until I lost it at a dock, the CRKT 4515 Hawk DOG bird cat monkey whatever was my favorite beast. It never had a problem with bunker blood, and was only like 15 bucks more. I miss you baby...
