What's the cheapest knife you carry?

I always keep an Old Timer Middleman in my work bag. I got it at WalMart for something like $12.00.

Either a Spyderco Almite Navigator or Spyderco SS Cricket. Both small and really cheap, and both get the job done.

A Victorinox Pioneer Pruner, just two blades, nice and flat and tough. I think I paid $13 or so for it.

That would be my Microtech Socom Elete with tanto point. I purchased it for $150.00 and carry it all the time both on duty and off.

Victorinox Recruit SAK (about $8)

I bought three of these at Target several years ago. I'm down to two after giving one to a friend at work who borrowed a knife one time too many. He now carries the Recruit daily. :)

I have an old bone handled stockman made in '58 or so that was the first knife my dad gave me. He may have paid a couple of bucks for it.

I have way too many free SAK Classics that I get as Comps and gifts from just about everywhere. I have about 5 of them in my desk drawer at work.

On a EDC basis, my least expensive is the CRKT Model 7. Sweet cutter.

For EDC accessory duty the cheapest tool/knife combo I carry is a Leatherman Micra.

The cheapest EDC knife I carry is an early Japanese made AUS6 Kershaw Vapor. It's a frame lock design with a slight revurve flat ground blade and was $22.00 and really cuts well. It doesn't hold an edge as well as my BM 941D2CF or Microtech Socom Elite EDCs. I only carry it while traveling so I won't be as crushed if it dissapears from my no-longer-lockable check bag as if I'd lost one of my higher priced favs. I carry a small Gatco Gatstix pocket ceramic rod sharpener when I travel so the softer AUS6 doesn't seem to be a problem for me a I can touch it usp at any time.

Spyderco Ladybug II for $14. It's on the keychain with my car keys; I think of it as sort of a mini-rescue.

My Victorinox Spartan which was totally free. I found it in my brother's old tacklebox. Main blade even had some worm guts on it. I cleaned it up and sharpened it on my Spydie Sharpmaker. The main blade has a razor edge and handles most of my daily tasks like opening envelopes and boxes. Love those Saks.

Once in a while I'll carry my polished Chive, I think it was about $40; not that cheap actually. I carried a Vapor for about two weeks when I was home once; I was flying from S. Korea on leave and had heard that if you had any knives in your baggage they would confiscate them, even checked baggage. So I left my EDC in Korea, and needed a good one hander for my leave. I was kind of broke after buying $800 plane tickets, so I decided to get whatever was good at Wal-Mart. I went there with my Dad and gave the knife case a sweeping glance, asked to see the Vapor and the Harsey Air Ranger, liked the lockup on the Vapor, payed for it and left. All told it took about three minutes. My Dad thought it was funny as all get out; he said I looked like Arnold Schwarzeneggar in 'Commando' when he was picking out weapons in the Army surplus store. Well, kind of like what Arnie would look like if he lost about a hundred pounds and shrunk three inches, but you get the idea. It was a moment.

The cheapest one I carry and use every now and then is a $1.00 Imperial diamond edge stockman.Works great for wire stripping and such.tom.;)

Right now it's the CRKT Rollock at roughly 25 bucks though I was carrying a Camillus Rough Cut congress which had cost 7 bucks.
