What's the cheapest knife you carry?

Cheapest would be the Spyderco Ladybug on my Keychain..... or my victorinox rucksack around my neck.

but I did get a good deal on some used spyderco's at a pawn shop that are going to make it into my daily rotation, $20 US each for a Old FRN Rescue and Delica with plastic clips.

the knives that I've won in forum give-away's here and at knifeforums.com not to mention all the knives given to me, or purchased on the 'skinny' both here and there...

Good knives all, great friendships made, and solid deals too! These knives have been inexpensive, have served me well, and following the 'pass it along' kindred spirit instilled in me by our own 'Masterchef' Mike, they've (almost all) found their way onto new homes... :)

Bang for the buck though, the Kershaw Vapor/Leek knives, and those EDC's by Camillus are hard to beat, as are those older 'no foo-foo' Spyderco FRN's...

SAK's are just about the best gift's known to man, with Leatherman tools a close second IMNSHO...

But, if you want to talk about cheap POS 'cheesedick' knives....A good bud just gave me a Emerson 'Hardwear' lockback that's fully serrated...At first I thought it was the newest 'cat's meow', but in the five days I've had it, I've busted off blade pieces 3 times now, not to mention it popping out of the pocket twice when lightly snagged!

Day 1: Prying out a brass pin from a plastic connector, 1/16th inch, gone...
Day 3: Cutting some large plastic tye-wraps off a metal frame, another 1/16th inch and a tooth, gone...
Day 5: prying out a stuck .270 shell from a friends Model 70 at the range today...another 1/8th inch, gone...

With the 'huge' opening hole added in (bringing the blade width down to .375" at the point receiving the most lateral stress); at this rate I figure after a month I should probably have about a 1/2" blade, consisting of a 'modified' tanto tip, a choil, and a single tooth...lol

Cheap knives, gotta love 'em... ;)

I beleive mine would be my M-Tech. Decent folder for the money, just needed a little sharpening.

The cheapest I carry and really probably one of the best EDC folders I have found to date is the Kershaw Vapor. I own both the large and the small and they are worth more than what one pays for them at Wally world. Lock up, fit and finish is well beyond what a 20 dollar knife should be. For average everyday knife chores they work very well indeed. Keep'em sharp

Other than some SAKS that I have that run around $10 or $15, the cheapest EDC I regularly carry is my Spyderco Jester which ran me about $20. The funny thing is that the Jester is the knife that I use more than any other because of its tiny size. I love keychain knives because they tend not to upset anyone who isn't stupid.

Maybe not exactly a knife, but it does have a hook type cutter and saves my edc from abuse (prying, screwdriver, etc.)
Under $30.00
ATWOOD PRYBABY

Victorinox Classic $12
Opinel #7 $6
Schrade Middleman Stock $15
Being a happy knifenut...Priceless:)

Cheapest retail price: Vict. SAK, Tinker.

Cheapest as far as what I actually paid: Spyderco Military

Now you're thinking..."Wait a minute here...O.o"

I got the Millie at a thrift store in downtown orange for 15 bucks, brand new with no box:D

Seberknife: $5 at wallywhatever closeout. Neat idea, but I find it dificult to disingage the lock on the blade without endangering at least one of my fingers.

You lucky dog! That's less what I paid for my cheapest EDC, SAK Manager (original w/ sheepsfoot blade) ~$20.

Hmmm...The Cheapest I carried was probably when I carried around a promotional my dad got from a mechanic. My most loved cheap knife was a 20 dollar Tinker. Most expensive were the Cybertools, and the best value was my 40 dollar Gerber AR.

T.Erdelyi...is that your real name or are you a Ramones fan? Their old drummer was Tommy Erdelyi...sorry...I'm one-track minded....

The cheapest knives I carry are:

CRKT M16-3Z: $29.00 on closeout at KAME'S (local knife shop)

Gerber Mini-Covert: $34.00 at Walmart

That is my real name, the T stands for Tibor, not too many people make the connection, but than again they're a lot younger out there than I, and apparently you are too.

Do you remember which album/cd they put out that had all their names on tombstones,(it's kinda wierd to see your name on a grave marker:eek: )

Knife content, went to Giants Stadium to see Springsteen, they took the cap off my bottle of water to prevent me from hurting some one by throwing a sealed bottle, but they let me in with a SOG Flash1, a SAK Pioneer and my Spydercard, oh yea and a cane.

Go figure:confused:

Looking down this post at the replies, it proves one thing, you don't need a major paycheck to supply yourself with a decent EDC, for the price of a decent lunch you could get a decent blade.
