What's the deal with the psuedo-superiority attitude knife people have towards people

When I need to cut something I feel smarter that the guy who has to cut something and does not have knife. When I need money I feel dumber than the guy who does not have a knife but still has his money.:D I must be fair and balanced.;)

The above is the life story of two brothers, I am the one with the knife.

People who fear knives and other tools, or who simply don't take responsibility for their day-to-day activities by carrying even the most basic of daily carry equipment, are inferior to those who do not and who do (respectively).

This is because they are less capable of coping with daily life. That is simply a fact.

I agree 100% !

If a person doesn't feel like they need to carry a knife every day, does that make them inferior to those of us that do?

You mean their fear of being cut by a knife?

No, their irrational fear of objects rather than dangerous individuals.
They are the ones who scream about improving public safety without having a clue how such a thing could be accomplished.
The same ones who still believe that the police protect you, when the truth is that the police find out who made you into a corpse(BIG difference).
They are the ones who externalize their fears, projecting them onto objects and people who are not a threat, rather than engaging in the self-reflection required to find the source of why they are insecure.
They are the ones with an unrealistic expectation of safety, and the faulty mentality which believes extra legislation makes us safer.
They are the ones with the scales on their eyes who accuse everyone who doesn't agree with them of being blind.

Ah, all right. That makes sense. Just wanted to get that straight in my head.

Sorry guys but failing to prepare for the simple little speedbumps that life throws at you everyday is a fairly good indicator of at the least, an inferior intellect.

I don't assume to know a persons intelligence level, social status, education level or anything else just by noting that they don't have a knife on them but it is an indicator of common sense.

Personally, I'll take a person with good common sense and reasoning skills over the most highly educated any day.

I don't know, some of the responses here seem like the individual is trying to compensate for something. Whether it be an insecurity or just a way to cope with feelings of inadequacy, I think some people who take hobbies like knife-collecting or any other types of hobby need to maybe take a breather sometimes.

I have a lot of interests and hobbies. Some of them include movies, bodybuilding, martial arts, comic books, etc. And just like the bladeforums, I find a lot of the same type of "superiority-complex" in those type of forums as well. Those people also look down on individuals who don't share the same views or spend as much time as they do concerning the subject matter they're passionate about.

I guess with a lot of things, some people just feel the need to look down on others to make themselves feel more better since they're unhappy about whatever accomplishments or lack thereof they have in their real lives.

It's sad really.

I don't think we need to take a breather. I work hard every day, and I make a good living. I make it the old fashion way, I earn it. I don't need someone saying my hobby of knife collecting is not very good. I really don't care what alot of people think. I feel very adequet and I feel good about myself. I hold the door for people, because I like to be of service if needed. I let others go before me in line because I am in no hurry. My ambition is to feed a stray cat and to make sure my friends have gotten home safe. I know that what is good is coming in from the cold night and sitting on a chair in a warm room. I know stopping my car and letting some kids cross the street in heavy traffic makes me feel good. I don't feel superior to anybody. I don't get the feeling that most of the members of this forum feel that way either. I think they are just good honest people who share an interest in comman decency.

I sort of feel sorry for NKP, as they haven't been afforded the training, experience and heritage that knives represent. A major part of their past, represented by knife appreciation and ownership, has been lost to them.

I differentiate NKP from Sheeple in that for me, Sheeple represent the ignorant, crowd mentality masses. Or, to put it another way, 'The peasants are revolting'. ;)

I guess I was just brought up that correct articulation was the way to go. Slang just dosen't cut it for me. The flash in the pan new jargons, are not my cup of tea. I have read things on this forum that were like another language to me. I have never heard of such things as I have heard here. The people I know, and deal with, do not use such terms and mannerisms.

Man, I couldn't have said it better.

Beautiful poem. You should call it "A Liberal."

It's like turkeys for instance. There are wild turkeys and then there are slaughterhouse turkeys. Evolution and breeding . . . Some try to survive while others unknowingly wait to die.
