I joined this forum apro. 1 1/2 yrs ago and really have enjoyed it.I felt that everyone was friendly and that I would really fit in.
For six months I have wanted to post pictures on forum and be more of (the group) of makers.

Well two days ago my wife finally got one of my knives posted and I was really happy. But as of today there have been 243 lookers and only two comments and that of only: nice work.

I do not know what I have done wrong but whatever it was I apologize.

I do want to thank Ampbuilder and Safta for thier help with the pictures and I want to thank Barkes@Barkes knife shop for the comment he made.

Jerry,

I saw your knife and I really like it! It shows character and I really like the finish on the blade. I've been a member here for a while and don't do much posting, but after reading your posts about posting pictures I thought "What the heck, I'm going to try it." Please keep posting pics, that is a really nice knife and sheath as well.

I am a new member so I have just been lurking for a few days. I saw your pictures a few days ago and I thought it was a beautiful knife myself.

Jerry, you haven't done anything wrong at all. I usually sneak a peak at this site at work now and again (as I am right now :D), but unfortunately, the hospital blocks photobucket and other photo hosting sites. With as busy as it's been lately around my household, I haven't had much opportunity to spend quality time on the boards at home. Because of all of that, I have not actually see the pictures you've posted, but I definitely will take a look when I get home.

This board has its ebbs and flows. There are times when people are posting like crazy, and there will be weeks were very few posts are made. It could have something to do with the hollidays, but don't take anything like that personally. Especially in photo posts, I take any replies I get as icing on the cake, as there is no specific reply that is expected. You may have a thread with a 1000 views, but only a handful of replies. There are a lot of guests perusing the boards and a lot of lurking members as well without posting. If you are looking for specific feedback about a knife, don't hesitiate to ask specific questions or for specific areas of feedback as these help direct replies.

Keep on plugging away there, Jerry.

Hey Jerry,

I may have missed your post.:o What's the link? I ALWAYS appreciate looking at someone's work, although sometimes don't make comments. I know what it feels like to put yourself out there and not get any responses...really empty at the least. Please understand it's not a reflection on you, nor the silent would-be responders. It's just something that happens sometime. I'm sure glad you brought it up now we can smoke that thang! :D

I'm a noob so my comments probably wouldn't be of the same caliber of a veteran maker, but that hasn't stopped me yet from vesting a variety of verbiage into the voluminous vestibules of cyberspace's vaporous ethers. Ha, see what I mean! Just tell me where that sucker's at. I'll gratefully give her a peak.

All the best, Phil

I am in the same boat with photobucket being blocked. Really puts a damper on my BF browsing.

Sorry can't find the link?
As Phil said sometimes something gets the ball rolling and comments are plentiful other times it's quiet. Not sure there is a reason and surely not a reflection of the work.

Keep sharing with us. I like looking even if I don't comment.

You should not be discouraged AT ALL.

Sometimes I comment on knives, some times I dont...sometimes i am talkative and sometimes not.

Its tough sometimes to be SO excited and looking for feedback only to get nothing.

If you want discussion, an easy way is to bite your pride come right out and ask things like "What don't you like?" "What should I change"

I seen your post but being on low speed dial up, unless the photos are posted in the thread it's not often i will go to a link to look at pics. Don't let it bother you as has already been said i as well as many others look lots and say little.

Bob

Hi Debbie
After this post I found your previous post, the reason I didn't look to that thread was the two threads before that one titled about technical questions about posting pictures, and when I saw the thread titled "pictures again" I thought it was again about method of your posting picture problems. If the title was something like "pictures of my knife" etc. I would definitely look that thread and might possibly comment it because I was curious about your knives but didn't see them and waiting your knife's post...

But you are right that these comments really encourages me also to go forward and as a beginner I desperately need them :o. BTW your knife is really beautiful. Here I post some picture of your knife as an attachment, maybe it will help for photobucket blocked members...

I want to agree with an earlier poster. I will almost NEVER follow an external link to a picture. I dont know if its because im lazy, or what...but I dont even remember the last time I followed a link to a picture.

The first couple of times I tried to check out your stuff I was having troubles with my dial up internet conection. Often I will not put more than a few minutes into looking for pics if I feel I am not getting anywhere.

So here is a belated welcome to the forum. One of the best ways to fit in here is post your thoughts and opinions on stuff. It takes time but as people get to know you I am sure you will get more interaction from other members.

So stick around!

Oh and by the way nice knife! Did you make the sheath to? I really like holster style sheaths.

jerry....nice lookin knife....i'll make a few comments.....the pins in the cross section look a little off in the pic....the one on the right looks further away from the center.....it might be an illusion...hard to tell from a pic sometimes.....is the finish textured.....were u looking for like an aged look on the knife?.....i might like it more if it were like a textured blackish finish....like right outta the forge.....again it's hard to tell from a pic.....but i've seen a knife sorta like this in erson and the texturing looked more like the maker never finished sanding it than intentionally leaving it like that......cool knife though......ryan

I am also bad about commenting on posts. I really enjoy reading posts and looking at everyones pictures but don't always have the time to respond. And also I am a terrible typist and that doesn't help either:)

I feel the same way sometimes about my threads, but I too am guilty of looking and thinking "that's nice" but not saying anything. If I don't have a question about the construction or feel really strongly about it I won't post.

I also dont post much. I cant type or spell very well and I dont want you all to know how dumb I am. My wife will sometimes post a picture for me. When she does she clicks the go advanced button at the bottom of this page then gets them out of the "my pictures" file on my computer. After that im lost.
By the way I like the knife very much. And have you shot a deer with one of those bullets yet? Greg

I will also make a comment on your knife...You should send it to me for proper disposal :)
It looks great! I am also one that will never follow outside links...Not really lazy but I would rather see the picture in the forum that I am visiting at that moment in time.

Bill

Nice knife, would like to have a picture of the whole knife. I really like the sheath, I'm a horrible leatherworker and really like how some people (like yourself) are able to make a sheath that really makes a complete package.
