What's the fewest knives that you could get away with owning?

I would only need 5...

Buck 301
ESEE fixed blade
Gransfors Bruks american felling axe
Leatherman wave
Spyderco paramilitary 2

After thinking about this question I'm not sure if I want to sell off some knives or buy more...

Hmm...

• ZT 0561
¬ I know it's not out yet but I know that it will be one of my favorites

• Spyderco Paramilitary 2
¬ Pure EDC perfection

• Spyderco Dragonfly H1
¬ Fishing blade

• Kershaw Blur S30v
¬ My workhorse

• ESEE izula II
¬ Tough Necker

• ESEE 4
¬ Outdoor/Firecraft

• Ontario RTAK II
¬ Big Blade of Power

I could get by with one smallish EDC folder, like a purple Delica FFG, and an Opinel folding saw (6 3/8") for limbs in the yard.

I've really thought about selling just about everything else I have. I just can't pull the trigger.

You should do it. It's a good feeling. And I'm sure your collection will bring quite a bit of cash. So that's always nice too.

I'm sort of purging most of my things at the moment. I can't bring myself to sell any guns though. Books, DVDs, clothing and random junk are all going though.

Two EDC folders. One larger (3-3.25") blade for work, one smaller (2-2.5") when not at work. Potentially a 3rd, more socially acceptable small folder (under 2.5"), like a traditional slipjoint or, more likely, a SAK.

Three kitchen knives. Large chef's knife (8"), santoku (5.5"), and paring (4"). Might be able to get by without the chef's knife, but it would make some tasks more difficult. Paring knife can also serve as a really nice steak knife.

Been considering a fixed blade for outdoor recreation. So far, though, my larger EDC folders have served that role fine.

I'd say I could live with about four. A large camp knife, a food prep/slicer, a game knife (as to not cross contaminate) and a pocket knife for for whittling/carving away. But what's the fun in that? :D

I've already reduced my collection to exactly 5 knives plus a SAK.

-CRK Large Sebenza 21
-Strider SNG
-Spyderco Sage 2
-Spyderco Paramilitary 2
-ESEE Izula
-Victorinox Cadet

If I absolutely had to, I could see myself getting by with just a Sebenza and a Cadet but these 6 knives have proven to be amazing keepers.

19. At a minimum, I need 1 in my pocket and all 18 spaces in my small Spyderco knife case filled.

I could get by with five.

1. A folder for EDC, a SAK Camper.
2. A medium sized fixed blade, a Kumar Karda from HI
3. A vegetable cleaver, my cheapo Kiwi brand has served me well
4. A heavy chopper, HI khukuri, 18" WWII
5. A machete, 12" Tram

That covers office, camp and kitchen.

Been there, did it.

My current inventory includes..

1- Victorinox Hiker (my EDC)

2- Fallkniven F1

3- Leatherman Blast (for work )

4- Wetterlings Hatchet

I scratch my knife itch by buying cheap (but decent quality ) knives on occasion then give them to my son. After I've played with them for a bit. :) His last hand me downs were a Condor mini-Bushlore and Sapian. And a Bucklite Max folder.

I have been craving a necker sized fixed or a Mini Grip lately. So far I just haven't pulled the trigger, the urge is almost unbearable though.
