What's the knife that just always seems to miss out on being your edc?

I've seen plenty of threads on what everyone's favorite edc knives are, but what about those knives that you absolutely love, but just never seems to get carried for some reason or another?

For me my knife that I love but is just always on the fringe of edc'ing is my Caly 3.5 CF. It was one of the first knives I got and I love the idea of carbon fiber with it's strength and lightness and the blade finish on the zdp-189 is amazing and nearly mirror like, but it's also for these reasons that I always pick my manix 2 over it. The manix is heavier and the satin finish on the s30v doesnt get the same ooh's and aah's that the zdp-189 gets but it makes me feel like I can carry it around every day and not worry about when it gets scratched up. Ultimately I love the idea of the caly 3.5 but I think it is just too delicate for me to edc.

This one. The Spiderco Southard. It was expensive and made by a cousin in Tucson. I don't want to lose it.

My Manix 2 with DLC coated blade. I love that knife every time I pick it up. But the PM2 or one of the others always makes it to my pocket first.

Buck 110.

Too heavy. Too thick. Too little tip. Prefer full flat grind.

My most loved and least carried knife.

TOPS Lil' Roughneck. Should be perfect, at 6.25" OAL and 3/8" thick at the spine! A knuckledragger's EDC if there ever was one, but also a lot of weight, and questionable edge geometry.

Talking with a fella about a sheath for it, so I'm working on the problem.

The Benchmade 940 Osbourne is a knife that I rarely EDC anymore, as I realized I just don't want to scratch it, so I'm selling it soon because what good is a knife if you don't use it? Keep in mind this was the first knife I bought brand new and was my dream folder at the time. It is less than 3 months old and has already fell out of favor with me.

I would also go with a buck 110. Its such a fantastic knife to use, but I simply don't like carrying it. It will see occasional time when camping, but for the most part just hangs out in my car in case of emergency.

My Paramilitary 2.

Great knife, for almost a year I alternated between it and my Military.

It has been regulated to glovebox duty in my truck by an Emerson.

I still carry the Military as a second knife on occasion. But the PM2 has the same blade length as the Emerson, so it has become redundant.

I keep neglecting my Rough Rider hawkbill knife - it's kind of wide for easy carry, but it's always a joy to use whenever I force myself to bring it along.

The only knives I don't carry as often as others are the ones that are discontinued or are of great sentimental value. Simply for fear of losing them and not being able to replace them. Other than that I try my best to put them all in rotation.

Cold steel mini tuff lite. Too small wish I had gotten the medium. It makes a great drawer utility knife though.

ZT0808. Beautiful knife, great EDC size, awesome Wharncliffe -ish blade. Only "LOVE IT / NEVER CARRY IT" knife in my collection.

BM Mini-Grip.

Between my Chaparral, Dragonfly, and Sebenza there's just too many comparable or better options in the same category.

I don't have all the knives i ordered yet, but I've tried to narrow my quiver down to a few "must haves" and as much as i absolutely love the knife, I know that my ZT 0220 is not going to get the pocket time it deserves. I have a digi cam/black blade para mil II, a delica II, and an alox it shares time with (along with 2 other fixed blades) and no matter how much I love it; it just doesn't get the pocket time it deserves. Maybe it's the weight, maybe it's because it's just too pretty, but all I know I know is that I reach for the others before that bad boy, and in retrospect it makes me a little sad lol!

I really like my 440c field and stream folder, but it's just a little to bulky, I don't like the sheath, and there's just something about the liner that I don't like.
Overall it has a really ergonomic handle and has a drop point blade with nice belly to it.

It's a great, great carry knife. It doesn't scratch that easily, but looks better when it does (IMO). I think you'd like it though, unless of course you're a collector. I get that perspective no doubt, I simply don't share it.

For me it's my PM2, but only when I have my S&W Shield in an IWB holster. Knife goes in my front right pocket, along with my wallet. Normally it's not a problem, until that holster goes on at about 4:30. Then I grab the Delica or 531. The PM2 is just wide enough where I can't reach past it and get to my wallet.

Interestingly enough, I have an old photo with all 4 of those knives mentioned. Also, this thread needs more pics.

My S110V PM2. I use it around the house quite a bit but almost never carry it out. It's a bit too large for comfortable and discreet carry in my office, and on my hikes I prefer something smaller like my EnZo Birk. I know my PM2 is a wonderful knife, it just hasn't carved out a niche in my routine (pun intended).
