Currently, mine would be a Lum folder at $500.00. Uses.....opening the mail to see if there are checks so that I can buy more knives! Cutting veges and cheese. Whittling.

My current daily carry knives are a PJ Tomes 3 inch flat-ground lock blade of 420V (letters, packages, fruit) and a PJ Tomes double lock-back two-blade 'moose' folder with 52100 blades (whittling, general use). They each cost +/- $600.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure just to have this knife in my pocket. It holds an edge like crazy and is a completely sensual experiance to handle and use. It is very very smooth and opens with a great sounding Click.

I drive myself nuts with this question. On the one hand, I love to carry and use a really fine knife. On the other, I hesitate to risk marring the finish on same. Most of my knives are too pricey or impractical to carry (a handmade “art” auto as a utility knife is downright stoopid). Right now, my most expensive carry knife is the Des Horn folder (not cheap by any means) shown in an earlier thread. That knife is strictly for "dress" carry and gets seriously pampered. I also carry this $500 Ken Onion Ti “Vapor.”

I have to admit though (blush), if I’m going to use a knife hard, I break out one of several older Microtech beaters. Who cares if a factory knife gets a little thrashed? I consider them more or less disposable.

My Dozier FH, carry and use it almost every day. It's "only" a $300 knife, but that's a big investment in my neck of the woods.

Most expensive original price: Woodcraft Model by Ed Fowler at $750. Great knife!

Most expensive pre-owned: Emerson CQC6 at $1100. Another great knife!

That'd be my Wood inlay Sebenza, $540, and it has been used but not abused, boxes, ropes, straps, stripping wire and the like. Lovely knife!

I won't buy a knife that I don't carry. That's not to say these are daily users, but at least once a month or so...

Tom--I took the top one, the really nice one on the bottom is courtesy of the Blade Gallery.

And of course, I carry this one frequently...

I've carried and used this knife every day since I got it in Dec. Nothing heavy, but it does get used. I designed the knife, when I showed it to Rick Dunkerly he suggested that Art make it one of his standard models.

If you have the stag I'm sure Art would make you one for around $500?

My only custom at the moment: DDR CF EDC $445 It's my EDC

Have a "plain" Apogee incoming that will probably rotate with it, same price.

Uses: Bet alot of people would be appalled! It's my "pretty knife" and heavy-duty beater, rolled into one.

This one's been my EDC since the November 99 NY Custom Show. The only time it wasn't carried was the week it took to send to DDR to have his customized low carry pocket clip put on. By folding the clip over, he made it almost invisible in my pocket.
