Whats the most expensive knife you carry

I've got a little over $500 in my BG-42 Sebenza with the Barry H carbon fiber front scale.

in recent months, the Galyean pro-series JYD - $350.

most expensive ever.. a damascus Mayo - about $1000 I figure but I was quite worried about damaging it....

I tend to like fixed blades, and this WD Pease spends so much time in my jacket I've thought of sewing it in place:

But I find myself carrying this little wharncliff by Mike Lovett a lot too:

Last, this is my "dress" carry: Made by Steve Fecas:

These are all in the "over $500" category.

My all damascus Crawford Perseco... $1,500.00, made in 2004 by Pat (who swore he'd never make another, since it was quite labor intensive.)

My Emerson CQC-13... $1000.00 A great EDC, waved, fast & practical (probably gets the most lint & pocket time out of all of them)

My Carrillo SkorPin... $800.00 A BEEFY M1 Abrams of a tac-folder

My other Crawford Perseco... $500.00

My Lightfoot 460 Mag... $500.00

This one. It's my perfect dress knife. No-one has ever looked at this as a weapon. Damascus, blacklip MOP, Mastodont Ivory, Titanium and Gold.

edit:

Oh yeah, it was around $265

At the moment, my Benchmade Mini-Barrage has that particular honor, at $70 (employee discount + discontinued/markdown item = great deal). In a week or two, it'll be out-priced (and hopefully out-carried) by my new 755 MPR for a little over double that.

The Striders, Sebenzas, and high end customs are still a ways off for my budget, unfortunately, but hopefully someday...

who made that? $265 is pretty awesome for a gents folder like that.

I think the most expensive I carry is my BM210...#999 of 1000 first production run, was sub $200.

It was made by a guy from Thailand. He sells them on e-bay under the name Thitaa (just google e-bay and Thitaa and you'll find it.) He only lists a couple of pieces a time and then takes the time to make some new ones. It's a pretty nifty little piece. It was a bit rough on opening at first but got smoother over time.

I think his prices are only gonna get higher over time though.

thanks for the info, i'll look into it...I like it a lot!

You're welcome. Good luck with it. I just checked the pieces he has for sale now. They're pretty nice.

Sidenote though. He usually lists Ivory a little more subtle "Fossil material" or something of that nature. But it clearly states it on the card that you get with the knife.

do you know what animal the ivory is from? i wont buy ivory from any animal thats been poached (principles and all)...what he has now looks really nice, but until I know where he is sourcing his ivory I'll stick to his shell and antler stuff when I russel up some cash that the missus will approve.

The only types I've seen him work with are Mastodont and Mammoth, both extinct elephant species for thousands of years. I haven't seen any "unethical" materials on his knives.
