What's the origin/history of the Back Pocket knife?

Several things are at play here so I will summarize the issues at hand so that the utmost in clarity can be attained.

1. Traditionally, folding knives are called "pocket knives" not pouch knives.
2. The traditional name for a "knife pouch" is "knife purse".
3. Knife purses are girly
4. Anything that Tony Bose says is girly, is girly.

I will add one other thing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on this subject, but knife purses are still girly.

I have two beautiful well constructed pouch sheaths from Mr. Kenny Rowe himself to keep my fine slipjoints in and protected from my keys and other stuff in my pocket. You callin' me GIRLY?
