What's the origin of your forum name?

Basicaly I was trying to think out an e-mail. Everything I came with was occupied, and this one manged to stick....

When I signed up here, my mind went blank when I tried to think of a name. My eyes scanned the study for inspiration. There on the wall was a poster of Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius. Near it was a postcard of an otter (my wife loves otters).

Hmm...

maximus otter

Given to me by an old friend, sadly, gone and still missed.I think about him at least once every day.He gave it to me in '71 and it has stuck.

I was attempting a screen name on ICQ when I first got a computer. Everything I tried was already taken. Being a pipe smoker, I had a box of matches on my desk...I tried it...and it worked! To simplify my life, I use the name in several locations on the internet. :)

I needed a name for Diablo 2, and I was eating cashews at the time. As with any name ending in "s", one can make it 10x cooler by chaning the "s" to "z". Yeah.

I collect texas toothpicks
That pattern is also known as 'Tickler', 'Powderhorn' 'Saturday Night Special' 'Dance or Tango' knife. Didn't like any of those.

But don't call me 'Tex', I'm....

I tried to pick up a girl years ago in a club and she called me a Zooblast:confused:
so after I looked it up, It just kind of stuck:D though I dropped the blast
here.

By the way that girl is now my wife.

Zoo

You married that girl even after she insulted you like that? You must have a "thick skin." ;)

Zooblast: A zooblast is an animal cell. A cell is the most basic unit of life able to survive on it's own.

I had to look it up, too. I must be a zooblast... :(

The Centaur was my High School mascot.

Here's a quick rundows of the Centaur - a creature from greek mythology - with the head, arms, and torso of a man, and the body of a horse. The centaur was a descendant of Ares - the God of war. They came to symbolize the dark and unruly forces of nature. The centaurs were libidinous creatures and fond of wine and drunken revelry.

Most significant of the Centaurs was Chiron, an immortal, son of the titan Cronos. Because of his different bloodline, he was unlike all other centaurs - he was the wisest and most learned of all beings. He was the tutor of Greek mythology's greatest warriors -Heracles, Achilles, and Jason.

As with many of you , when I was setting up my old, old email account on AOL about 7.5 years ago I couldnt think of anything so I looked on my wall and saw my "Stars and Bars" , hence = rebel tf is my initials.
Been rebeltf mostly ever since

I have studied Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu(quick-draw swordsmanship) since 1999. Kohai means junior student in Japanese, even though I am shodan (1st degree blackbelt), I have so much to learn. It is a life long quest to perfect form and movement. Plus, it looks cool! :)

Best Regards,

Well, T. Erdelyi was already taken... Then I realized, "hey, I'm a world-famous Swedish 400 lb wrestler/horror actor, why not use my own name?"

Then I realized I would be inundated with annoying fan mail, so I decided to add a "z" at the end of my name so I could surf incognito.

Plus, as Planterz said, adding a "z" makes anything instantly cooler.

lol, at TorzJohnson.. :D

I'm ashes wherever I go, although I only actively post on two sites, and this one a LOT more than the other one. I used to post on another one, which is where I think I first got the name.

Anyway... phoenix rising... I was a mess.

My screen name just kind of free-floated out of my brain, much like my words. Because my business is getting so hairy, I have to take it down to one, max two forums. If it comes down to one, this would be it.

Awwww..... <blushes> Thanks, man! First the Umfaan and now the compliment! It doesn't get much better.

Well, every name I tried was already taken. I'd been going crazy cooking with a bottle of yuzu juice I found at a local Japanese market, and was driving one of my Japanese pen-pals crazy asking what it is good in/on, and she had been trying to teach me a little Japanese. So, I just made up yuzu (a citrus fruit akin to a lime or citron used in ponzu sauces and cooking) and ha (leaf) and decided to spell it his way
