So......whats the point of having the "occupation" section in our profile? I put that my occupation is a Cerakote Applicator because that is what it is. That is my full time job, running my production Cerakote shop. I get a email from a moderator that tells me that I have to remove it because I am advertising......excuse me!! I am not posting my website, pics of my work or asking for customers. I rarely post at all anymore, due in part to the censorship from some of the moderators. I am threatened that I am going to be banned if I don't remove my occupation.....really, really!!! Is this how BF is run now.....bullying people to remove their occupations because they think I am advertising somehow.....

So does this mean that police, firefighters, EMS, office workers, sales staff, and all the other people on this forum that have their occupation listed are advertising for their employer on BF without paying membership fees?????

I belong to BFC and there are Police Officers here also?

Cops caring about cutlery, curious concept considering.........................

It's not so much that your occupation is listed, as it is that your occupation pertains directly to services that paid members here may provide and that as your profile shows, you've been taking orders from here without the appropriate membership level.

I have been doing no such thing......not in the least. Where do you get that I have been taking orders from this forum????? This is insane......total BS!!

send me a email to jeff@4bushweaponsrefinishingsystems.com

I like to keep all my quotes on email so I can refer back to them if need be.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry it took so long to respond, I was outta town. I'm interested in refinishing my BK2. Mostly doing research on price. I have several mods I want to make and the finish is just one of them.

hi there, i saw an old post of yours about refinishing beckers. i am looking to refinish my bk2 with cerakote. have you done this in the past? what would you expect the price to be?

from 2012....and they contacted me. I did not actively go out and look for business. I used to have a knife makers subscription......look my occupation is what it is. That is what I do....I have been a member on here since 2007 and never had I had a moderator that was actively gunning to ban me. Especially over my occupation! Are you a applicator or do you have a friend that is? Seems to me like you have something out for me.....

Nope, I'm just asking that you to follow the posted forum rules that you agreed to when signing up for a membership here:

"The only members who may promote or display their personally built knives, services and/or products in the discussion threads or via their signature or home page listing in their user profile are "Manufacturers", "Dealers" and "Knifemaker/Craftsman/Service Providers".

and I am not doing that......my occupation listed has nothing to do with anything here. It is your interpretation that is misguided. Please, please, please refer to someone higher than you on this. How can BF hold me accountable for my freaking occupation?

I did none of the above.....it says nothing about listing "occupation"

You listing "cerakote applicator" in your profile on a knife related website is much the same as someone listing 'knifemaker".
Do you not understand this?

when I am wrong I will say I am wrong....I don't feel as though I am however. I feel as though you are being unfair.

Not at all. I am actually trying to be fair for those that pay for the knifemaker/craftsman/service provider privilege.

so what the difference for a guy that owns a water jet shop/machinists or a guy that owns a company that makes g10? What about a guy that owns a company that makes anything that can be used to make a knife? Do they have to have a knife maker subscription?

It sure does say something about listing "occupation". Read in the portion I bolded in your quote. You cannot refer to a service that Bladeforums members can buy in your profile unless you have the proper membership.

Karda is a super moderator. No one is higher than him except Spark, who owns Bladeforums and who wrote the rules Karda is applying here.

In those rules at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=699&a=98, see SECTION 6 - Miscellaneous
1. If any rules seem contradictory, the more stringent rules apply.
2. WHEN IN DOUBT, ask the moderation staff.

Your recourse is to do as Karda told you and then appeal to Spark.

Accusing him of impropriety or corruption is a violation in itself. Drop it.

If they want to sell/advertise/do business here, they need to purchase the appropriate knifemaker/craftsman/service provider or dealer/materials provider membership.

fine....my official appeal to Spark begins now. I know this will do no good as it seems like everyone here is on the same page which is total BS. You know, if I was breaking a rule I would say you are right and fix it and move on but I am not. I have my occupation listed just like hundreds and hundreds of other non paying members. Only difference is the moderators don't like it.......

This is my point....they are not. They are just like me.....living their lives, getting on BF to look around and not promoting their business....just enjoying the site.

Do they have "waterjet cutter", "G-10 maker" or "knife materials maker" listed in their profile? If so, show me. Otherwise you need to comply as requested.

You know the point I am trying to make. I have changed it just to make you happy....this is still BS and totally unfair.
