after reading through all of this thread I felt it was justified for me to buy a bunch of em.
You most certainly have our encouragement to buy bunches.
Indeed you need at least one of every model. How else can you decide which is your fav, absolute fav, can't live without fav ...
Once you decide, you will then need 1 for daily use, 1 for backup, 1 for mod'ing, 1 for the safe ...

When I first saw the question being posed I assumed it meant of the same model. I was prepared to reply that, as a pilot, I believe that two is one; one is none and three is a back-up. I mean when it was rumored that the 5 was to be discontinued how many of us (be honest) ran out and bought a third one?
As for why more than one - OMG, you wouldn't want to cut your steak with a 9, would you? Chop with 15? The mighty 2 does a lot well but there's room for more. Just as I chose my wardrobe for the day based upon anticipated activities for that day, I do like wise with choice of EDC pocket folder, multi-tool (if warranted) and fix blade - when applicable. In the case of the latter, it is almost always a Becker and while the 2, 7 and 10 could arguably handle much of the chores - what fun would that be? The price point of the Becker knives allows that I haves others for for specialized tasks, niche functions and, to be entirely candid, the pleasure of owning and using more Becker knives!

Look at what you've gone and done jfondell! You've hurt Gassys feelings! As punishment, you'll be required to buy two of every Becker, construct a small wooden boat and call it Noahs Snark, put said knives on the boat and ship it across the ocean so Gassy and I can share them.
