3.75 for me. Ill go down to 3.5 and up to 4.25 but 3.75 is pretty ideal for my hands. Small enough in my pocket but still able to get a solid grip.

I may have to change my answer...I tried to carry my Sodbuster Jr. today but I just prefer the handle on my Slimline trapper. I prefer a 4 inch handle.

I voted 3 1/2", although anything between 2 7/8" and 3 5/8" works for me most of the time.

Whatever I've got in my pocket is the right size... Right now 4 1/2" closed. My #23 GEC in Bocote.

I voted 3 1/2", although anything between 2 7/8" and 3 5/8" works for me most of the time.

This is pretty much my attitude as well. I picked 3 1/2" though because that is the size of the GEC #15 which is my most carried knife since I bought my first one last year. Now I have 4 variations of the 15 ;)

The right size for me is somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0... I guess that's why I voted 3.75 (3.68725 was not an option for some reason - haha).

usually 3 5/8 seems about right.

3.5 - 4 will do.

Anything larger than 4 is a tad large for the pocket.
Smaller than 3 1/2 tends to be a bit small in the hand.

I voted 3 1/2" only because my Sodbuster Jr. and/or Country Cousin are about that size and seem to disappear in my right front pocket.
I'll carry smaller but anything much bigger goes on my belt.

I voted 3.25 because although i love my Peanut i mostly carry my Swayback Jack in my watch pocket but for food prep and such a longer good slicer is my choice, lately a Garonnaise that lives in the kitchen, i have just ordered a Eureka Jack and i think this may well cover most tasks with its 2.635 spear blade and nice little coping blade, time will tell, but to use an old expression , "Different strokes for different folks"..

I voted 3 1/4".

But for me, there's really three answers: EDC is 2 7/8 (my peanut), weekend work-around-the-house carry might be in the 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 range, and going out in the woods or anywhere I think I'll be using a knife for food/picnic duties, then in the 4" range (usually my no. 8 Opinel or SAK Adventurer).

I voted 3-1/2"; most of my EDC is with a Buck 303, a Schrade 34OT, a Barlow, a Case 6318, or 6207 - those sizes work for me. OH

I can't pick just one favorite size. I usually have a 3-1/2" to 4" modern folder in one pocket (it's hard to break old habits) and at least one smaller slippie or SAK in the other. I'll use whichever knife the task calls for. Most of the time my Peanut handles things just fine.

I tend to like knives in two size ranges. Smaller knives that fit in my watch pocket 3.25"-3.5", and knives around 4+ inches. Larger knives I really like to have a lanyard hole. It seems this preference is more based on how it rides in my pockets and how they are with food prep. I use my knives to help me cut up a lot of fruit and veggies so it like them to have a little more reach.

I started on the slightly larger side with my 73...

But have been but moving toward the 3.5 lately with my 76, which I love...

I laughed out loud at the 1/4" option! But wait...does anyone have something that fits that description??? :)

I voted for 3.5" too.
It seems I carry that size more or less, more often than others.

EG: Schrade 340T, Case Sodbusters, Schrade 330T, Camillus Electrician.
I do carry some larger too, like a Schrade 80T or 194OT, just under 4"

3.5"-4" is fine, smaller size when it doesn't matter.
