More than 3.5" and up to 4.5" for me. So I went with 3.75" as a compromise.

Large and clumsy hands do not do well with little bitty sharp objects.
 
Gotta say... I like the bigguns best. :cool: ;)

Most days, the smallest knife I carry is a 3 7/8" trapper or Camillus 69 stockman. By preference, I carry a 4 1/8" trapper or jack, and "something larger": usually a large sodbuster, a daddy barlow, or a WWI "spoon knife".
