What's the thing with Leatherman?

1) even a desequilibrated person? a psycopath who hasn't been violent for the moment? psy tests would avoid these persons to own a gun...
2) the same in France, and in other countries, unfortunately
3) well, I'm not american. I would think about that much more if I was, but I prefer to take a more precise look at my own **** and see how politics in France behave.

thanks for all for having explained your points of view, it was interesting for me. it's always cool to have political debates without insults or things like that, that's not often I see it.

Nope, not proven loonies. I forgot about them for minute. No guns for the wingnuts.

In these discussions if everyone is reasonable, cool, otherwise, it's the internet, I can turn off my PC.

Choubbi,

Your english is excellent. Did you ever spend time in the United States?

Mike
not at all, but I've been learning english at school for 9 years, with good teachers in the beginning (good for the basis). I also read a lot of stuff in english on the net (I think you can find one precise example by yourself :D)
EDIT: in fact, i went to london 2 days, but I spoke french during those two :D. this was absolutely not a linguistic trip. also, one trick is that I always have a French/English dictionnary close to the computer, for the times I lack a word.

you reassure me, I thought you counted them in your 1). I really couldn't figure how somebody could think normal to sell guns to a maniac.

:D So, anything wrong with the tools?

No?

So we better turn over to political forum. Don´t we?

I would have to agree. This thread should be located in a Political or Opinion forum rather than in a forum designed for discussing the tools themselves, not the politics of the manufacturer or the opinions of those who don't like the manufacturers' politics.

But the Mods have their reasons. :)

It was a reasonable question to begin with.. "what's all the fuss about?".

We didn't know the thread would take off like this...

My 2 cents

I did not vote. I do not like bush in the least. He is an idiot. I will not elaborate on my personal views. I did not like Kerry either. He is an idiot as well.

Gun control: It is a good thing, and a bad thing. I am sorry in advance for the people I offend, but there is NO need for assault rifles in the hands of the populace. Hunting with a submachine gun? come on. but to take away the RIGHT of an American to own a firearm is ludicris. It is an inalienable right for the american citizen to defend himself and his home from criminals, with gun, knife, or baseball bat. I work hard for what I have, and I'll be d***ed if some lazy junkie tries to steal it. My hands literally bleed at the end of most days, and I EARN the niceties that I have.

the war in Iraq: I give my full support to the loyal americans who are serving their country overseas. they answered the call. I believe, however, that motivation behind the war is money, for bush, cheney, and all their pals therefore I don't support the war.

Tim Leatherman? I've owned a few leatherman tools in the past. I was not impressed. Will I buy one? no. will I use one that someone gives to me. d*** right. He has the RIGHT as an american to vote for, and to back, whomever he wants. and all of you against him? well, as AMERICANS you all have the right to buy or not buy his products. there are other multi tools on the market.

tree hugging/bunny hugging: If someone doesn't protect the trees and the bunnies there won't be any forests to hunt in, and nothing to hunt anyways. environmentalism? no. conservation. yes. sustainability is important. Bush has no concept of this. Kerry doesn't either.
