There is a pic of their booth at blade on the Busse forum. Looked like they had some display cases with knives. Did anyone see them? Where they real?

They had a big booth at Blade. Complete with Techno music and bright lights.
There were some knives in display cases, but I did not slow down enough to check them out. They are just not the type of knives I am interested in. ;)

Gee, I really thought you were a "blood groove" type of guy! ;)

The display cases were real, yes! (But, then again, so were last year's.)

They had a huge booth. The knives were there. I'll leave it to others more qualified than I to judge their quality and their provenance.

The knives were in display cases out of reach (and scratching) of the general public.

For such a large booth (the largest in the show by far) at such a large show, they seemed to me to have very little traffic. Every time I went by, it was mostly deserted and the staff were sitting at their table talking amongst themselves. They had hats and shirts and stuff for sale, but I didn't see anyone wearing one around the show. So, it didn't look like a proverbial land office to me.

Maybe I just didn't look at the right times. I'll leave it to others to offer their observations or experiences.

My experience was the same as Chuck's. Passed by it a few times and saw few people in the booth. It sounds like neither of us passed by slowly :). In my very humble opinion, the approach was, shall we say, a little over the top for the Blade show.

It was a professionaly set up trade show booth large and set up with a lot more glitz than I have ever seen at a knife show. Considering the market they are trying to attract with the advertising copy they use the I should have expected the sizzle, but Blade is not your typical trade show so it was quite unexpected in my eyes. At certain trade shows it will have the effect they are looking for, but I do not think they were able to garner it over the weekend.
I think their marketing folks need to tone it down a few notches at knife shows.

I'm not much of a high speed operator myself. Medium speed at best.

Anyway has anyone actually evaluated their knives? Does anyone own one?

The booth was completely different than last year's. Those things (high-end professional tradeshow exhibits) are not cheap. They dropped some serious coin on that booth... again.

Where do they get their money if not from knife sales?

They are called Investors....

Hoping and Praying that their money will reap some rewards....

I have to believe SOME of those investors must take an interest in what they've invested in, beyond the papers and certificates. SOME of them must have done some surfing and found this site - and read the opinions about Dark Ops here. Man, I can only imagine some of the conversations between some of those

's right now.

I passed by several times on Saturday late morning. There were several times that I saw one or two people at the booth, but I never saw anyone buying. I did take a seat behind and to the right of the booth for about 30 mins. aching feet.. and in that time I only saw two of the people working there bringing back food from Subway.

I would express sympathy for the poor folks riding the marketing train to hell at Dork-Ops, But I dont want to be de-animated covertly, so I will stay silent.

Do they let kids under 15 enter Blade Show?

Maybe this is why there were no crowds at their stall.

Hey I'm 15 and I have good taste in knives.

I am thinking of going to Blade next year, will I be allowed admitance? I am going with my dad.

There were babies at, I think 15 will be no problem.

I'll give Dark Ops 8 months. This corporation will not need to be deanimated, they will starve to death. Blaring metal video loop every time I walked by. I didn't even stop to look at their knives but nothing in the showcase interested me on sideways glances. Lowest traffic per square foot per dollar spent than anything else I saw at Blade. BUH BYE.

I never saw more than five people at a time at their booth, and most of the time it was deserted. I stopped for a moment just to see what was in the case, but the EXTREMELY loud and annoying 'music' drove me away. I really hope they aren't there next year.

It's too bad no one took the time to get a look at the knives. Even if they were of no interest to me I would have checked them out just to be able to report on what I thought of them. You would think with all the hoopla around here about this company that someone would have taken the time to ispect the knives, if they were allowed to that is.

I saw a pic of their stand that somebody posted here on BF.

Frankly, I'd be too embarrassed to be seen standing in front of their stand. You never know, some BF member might come along and snap a pic of you looking at the Covert Deanimator. How many years would it take to live that down around here? :)
