What's the word on Dark Ops at bladeshow?

I saw a pic of their stand that somebody posted here on BF.

Frankly, I'd be too embarrassed to be seen standing in front of their stand. You never know, some BF member might come along and snap a pic of you looking at the Covert Deanimator. How many years would it take to live that down around here? :)

Too bad I wasnt able to attend Blade- I would have gone up to the stand for sure, I would have demanded to handle the knives, and I would have asked tactical questions like "can this knife kill a Moose? Is it sharp enough to smash through a window? Will forensic evidence wash off the blade?"
But seriously, I would have checked it out for sure- it would be hilarious! :D

Saturday afternoon is one of the highest attendance times at Bladeshow and typically a time when people are out and about checking out new things.

The people behind the counter look really interested!

I wonder what's in all those greenish coloured boxes, or whatever they are, in the glass cases?

Shocking news!

I reprocessed that picture using special imaging techniques that detect things not visible to the human eye. It turns out that Dark Ops WAS doing a land-office business at Bladeshow!

:D Bwahahaha

after looking at the website if they ever start selling the things i might have to try a stratofighter since i cant find a deal on an ER nemisis (looks like one to me) and they MSRP on there site for like $225 or so, dorky as the ads are if they are like ER folders they might be pretty good/acceptable maybe.

we'll just have to see.

NICE :D ! so.... they actually had knives for sale? I've read some comments of these Yo Yo's ripping off Extrema Ratio, is it possible their paying Extrema Ratio to use thier equipment & basic knife template i.e. the folders etc..? kinda like Taurus did with Beretta?

lol, i would definately have gone up and asked for a demonstration of the blood grove reducing spray vs that of the USMC kabar.

Where do they get their money if not from knife sales?

"They are called Investors....

Hoping and Praying that their money will reap some rewards....

Martha Stewart stocks would have been a better idea in my opinion...

ttyle

Eric"....

It smells more like money laundering.

maybe there advertising is not extreme enough for their target audience. Maybe the need the Quetin Terratino & Samuel L Jackson advertising firm:

Listen mtfkr's! I got a knife so sweet it will make you #$%$777 and **%. And when you're around the ladies it will make them %%^&( #$%*( 9(8 9^$# too!!

Mfrkr you better buy this knife! Doncha hate it whne some mtyfkr mtfkr has let you down on the job? Well listen here mtfhkr! 'cause this knife here mtfkr, will evisevrated the fky mtfkr AND is evidence free! That's right, no way they can pin this on you mtfkr! the mtfkr cops won't know which way is up mtfkr!!

--------------

Ok this is a serious idea, maybe they should get the knives put on the cover of some gangsta rap cd covers. That way every rapper and his crew will need them. Keep the danimation features, but add some gold and diamond hilighting, a super extra large lanyard to hand for 1 inch gold necklaces, etc.. Secetrect hiding place for drugs, you get the picture.

You couldn't miss their booth from afar. However, I didn't have time to see all the things I WANT to see at Blade---so I certainly wasn't going to spend any time there.

Not selling knives at a show is not unusual for a company. Spyderco and Benchmade usually do not sell at such shows.

I really do think that their marketing department is not doing their job. this type of display is almost guaranteed to drive off any knife person that I know. Oh well, it's not really my problem--it'll just get those terrible ads out of the magazines sooner.

You guys just don't get it. I thought it was common knowledge that Dark Ops was a front for Homeland Security. They lure the terrorists in, monitor them day and night, use those special search warrants, and then hustle 'em off to the US special prison in Cuba. You need to understand that Homeland Security is not only watching for the arabs, persians, and zionists, they are also looking for the next columbine warrior, mad US bomber and posse comitatus member. Unfortunately a few knife-knuts who should know better get caught in the net.

I must have walked by their booth about 50 times during the show, since I was running around like a madman. Not once, was I even close to tempted to go inside their booth.

The best thing at the booth was the chick behind the counter and even she was not worthy of Avatar Hottie status. I avoided that booth like it was diseased. I turned my head in the other direction if I had to pass by it. I did so so I wouldn't puke up on their tacky green boxes. :barf:

I think those folks behind the counter were eating those Subway sandwichs I saw them bring in. It wasn't like they had to gobble them down for fear of missing a sale! :) :) :)

You deserve green for that photo, ROTFLMFAO, but You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

That looks like a bad setup at a farmers market!

It's too bad no one took the time to get a look at the knives. Even if they were of no interest to me I would have checked them out just to be able to report on what I thought of them. You would think with all the hoopla around here about this company that someone would have taken the time to ispect the knives, if they were allowed to that is.
Keith my friend, any time I would spend investigating things I have no interest in would take time from things and friends that I would like to see. I did not get to meet/see every one and every thing I wanted to see as it was.

The Blade show is huge and it is hard to understand unless you have been there. Time is the most precious asset during the show since no one can see it all and meet everyone in three days.
