What's under the tree?

I try to give my 3 boys a knife every year at Christmas. This year I found some Rough Ryder fish knives for cheap, and since we all love to go fishing together I thought it would make a good stocking stuffer for this year.
I generally will not carry one of my nicer knives on Christmas morning to open packages and such, inevitably someone always asks me for my knife to cut something, and I don't want to hand them my CRK to try to pry something, etc. I did put my Gerber MP400 multitool on my belt, it does wonders for misc. screws, zip ties, etc. on the kids toys. I already used it to today to help assemble a couple of bicycles. 🎅

I ordered a Christmas flavoured knife from kansept. A little main street.

But for some reason it is in the Netherlands at the moment.

My best guess is Austria is in the Netherlands.

I think we will get a lot of answers come Christmas evening or the day after. 😀 I have given Swiss army knives as presents in the past, always a good gift, Tinkers and Classics. This year I got a friend who likes to go visit historical sites and trails around them a canvas satchel that also had a good sheath knife in 1084. He likes to write or take notes as he loves history and dabbles in living history, so I figured he can take his gear in it.

If it counts, I bought myself two small fixed blades from the exchange here, they are very handy sizes and I know what I like too. I got one the other is still coming, maybe I should wrap them up and act surprised. 😜 One is a small GLDrew knife in 1095 and the other a small Anza knife.

The question I want to ask is what knife will you have on you Christmas morning to open packages? And open the present that has that new knife you were hoping to get.
Packages will most likely be opened with my Ritter Hogue. That thing has hogged my pocket and pushes everything else out of rotation, every since I replaced the "deep carry" (I can't stand those)
I give my wife, dad, and three kids every Christmas and birthday. This years list is:

Benchmade 940 for dad because it’s his favorite knife and the only one he will carry these days. This will be his third one.

Kabar Wrench Knife for our son because he’s a mechanic.

Hogue Auto Launch 9 for the oldest daughter. She likes small knives and doesn’t have any autos yet.

Spyderco ARK for my youngest daughter. All the girls and women in my life have gotten one of these from me through the years My mom, my wife, and oldest daughter have one.

Case Barlow for my wife. This one is a bit sentimental. My wife’s maiden name was Barlow and her dad carried one, he passed a few years ago. I got it engraved for her, one blade has her maiden name on it and the other blade has her married name on it.

The last one is mine and it’s about a week late. Not sure when it will show up. It’s, of course, a little fixed blade, a TKell Piranha.

That’s about it this year.
That "Wife Knife" is really sweet. It is pretty cool to give something with that much meaning 👍
I have stumbled upon some evidence that I am getting a GB hand hatchet, which will be great for the couple of hiking trips we have coming up. I'm 90% sure I'm getting a Cold Steel 5 Max as well...which will weird if I pair it with the little GB as it has a longer OAL.

For my daughter, I got her a cheap knife-based multi tool. It's kind of a joke between us. I have bought her Leatherman and Victorinox tools in the past. However, at 14 she mostly uses them to open Amazon and makeup accessories. She rarely carries one. However, I always get her a little something. You can never have too many tools in various places of need.
You mentioned your daughter "rarely carries..." That was actually a topic, at my house - teenage daughter wanted black stretchy pants. I would only buy them if she could carry her Para 3 with them. Otherwise, they were gonna be a "no go" 😁

Most of y'all are opening or about to. My Christmas doesn't happen until tomorrow 😡 but still..
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Best knife ever!!
My edc since blade show this year, rotated thru 3 others for package opening. Ukrainian friction folder, Crkt fixed, and Kershaw. Leather man stayed on belt cause no assembly required this year. Prob different story at grandkids tomorrow.

My wife was always like, "Don't ever even think of buying me an appliance for my birthday, or Christmas. Appliances are for the house. Not for me." Last week, we walked into Costco, and within five minutes she bought herself an air fryer for Christmas, from a display right inside the door.:)

My Christmas present was paying off the last of my medical bills. My knife addiction came to a halt in 2024. I feel a lot better and very thankful for the 45 people (total) who gave me world-class Healthcare!

2025 is right around the corner. I get paid at 0005 tonight...
