What's up with the Cold Steel hate around here?

Not to mention most of thier offering seem to be directed to the appeal of basement dwelling teenagers. Sorry to those of you who like them, I don't and probably never will.

Might not be the best out there but they do the job and do it well.

daug...

Carried an LTC35 Kuk on my ruck in Central & South America back in the 90's....used to trim trees and brush nowadays.

Took me a bit...my apologies for the delay...I believe the individual you are in search of is right here.

No Hate from me. I absolutely love the products. I really love the counterpoint 1. very cool knife, and I also love the recon clip point and the 4 very affordable tomahawks that have been modded into greater looking hawks.
What is embarrasing to me is that Lynn T looks like a fat little toad dancing around in his silly shorts and long sleeve sweatshirts whacking stuff with his products.
That must impress the trailer park girls from Oklahoma, but it does nothing for me except chuckle.

Come on. They have a video for the SRK of some guy, dressed all in black, cutting rack of ribs in half suspended in the air. Another guy sticks holes in an old car hood. Another guy splits a piece of wood and another one cuts a quarter in half.

Are we supposed to take this seriously?

You know, I have never seen those videos. I don't really care. I pick what I like and the SRK, where it not for the fact that it broke, is actually a very nice design. Maybe a little obtuse. I am no CS fan, but a lot of their knives serve a good purpose. Also, I challenge you to show me knives at their pricepoint that come out of the box sharper because I have not found one. And that sells. The TM and Rec Scout are their design, not a ripoff and they are good looking knives with a purpose. They do have some serious flaws that show up in the non-laminated steel versions which causes them to fail, but other than breaking they are good designs;)

The Folding Bushman handle isn't bad. It is a utility knife, not a serious worker, except perhaps in the kitchen. I find the lock impossible to close safely.

But the ugliest knife I own may be the Vaquero Grande. It worked so well that I bought a second as a backup. Still don't need the backup. The Spyderco Principle: look at it with your hand.

Like what you like but please don't insult people whose opinion differs. This is General Knife Discussion, not Whine & Cheese.

they are made in taiwan, have garbage steel, horrible fit and finish, and the triad lock is not as sturdy as you think. i have 2 examle's of the triad and i have play in all directions. not to mention the owner is an A-HOLE.

Here's the whole thread:

1. Taiwan. So what?
2. Garbage steel. Not true.
3. Horrible fit and finish. Not true.
4. Triad lock. You hold a minority opinion.
5. The owner is an A-HOLE. Unacceptable language in a discussion forum.

Too many people getting carried away. This thread is closed.
