What's with CRKT? Attractive knives, poor quality materials?

I have owned a few and they are great knives with really cool designs. At that price point you can't really go wrong with them. I have had the Camillus , SOG and the Gerbersand CRKT has better designs than those. I have never owned a Kershaw and can't make the comparison. They are rock solid and never had a problem with them

I've had about half a dozen, just to have laying around at work for loaners. If I look at the blade too hard, it will dull and bend.

CRKT makes really good junk, and they make knives that are as good as any. I am a Benchmade guy, but I have carried a CRKT M16-14SF every day for 8 of the last 10 years. It is pretty much perfect for a big folder, and is near unbreakable. I am very hard on tools sometimes, and I have failed to break it. They do make junk, but their high end stuff should not be ignored. They realized that a plastic handled version for $35 makes some people happy, and that really is a good business model.
