What's wrong with foliage green?

Ah yes F/G!

That's been my main criticism of foliage green and especially digital camo for years. Drop it in the middle of the afternoon and you'll be ok, but god help you if you drop one at dawn or dusk. At least black still gives you a solid outline to look for.

I feel the same way about desert tan, but for some reason I just ordered a RAT Izula in desert tan... But in the areas where I do my camping and hiking, the tan knife won't blend into the ground when I drop it like green or black will.

Isn't that kind of the point of camo?

And foliage green, hence the name. I have no issue with it. It's different. I like my FG knives just fine. It is the base color of the military uniforms (Army/Marines).
That said, I'm still wondering why people are still getting all bent over the Boye Dent.

I don't like FG probably because it's an Army thing and I think its a terrible choice for an all around color. I'd prefer a Coyote Brown but that's just me. However, I am happy that Spyderco offers the color for those who want it.

My wife has a delica serrated edge in Foliage green and I gotta say it's pretty darn sweet.

I personally don't like FG at all. I really wanted a G-10 Delica and bought it primarily for the FFG blade. The color looked like vomit green and I couldn't bear it so it was sold the next day. Then one day, I saw the Khukuri. I love this knife but the drawback was the FG G-10 handles. My first thought was how to change it to black. A friend of mine said I could dye it black. I checked on the Spyderco forums and found a few threads with the process and results. Immediately got some dye (RIT powder) and the Khukuri G-10 handles turned black!!! Cleaned, dried and installed them back on the Khukuri and now it bears black G-10 handles. After a month and a half, no signs of green anywhere, even on the corners. The dye penetrates pretty well and works wonders on G-10. Now the black Khukuri has become part of my EDC rotation.

Now on to my next project. I've acquired another two Khukuris, two G-10 FG Enduras, three G-10 FG Delicas and have on the way a pair of G-10 FG Rookies and Dragonflys. Once I have all of them together, I'm going on a huge black dyefest. Finally, I'll have all my favorite Spydercos but with black G-10. Can hardly wait to get started. :D

The point of camo is to make things harder to see by breaking up their outlines. So it would be logical that you wouldn't want your outdoor use tools to be harder to see if you dropped them on the ground when lighting conditions weren't at their best.

If your knives never go outside, or you never drop things, then it doesn't really matter. But when you're working outside, you drop things every now and then and it's frustrating to have to search around for a sharp knife that you can't see.

But hey, you like what you like.

The color green is my favorite closely followed by purple so naturally the FFG Delicas and Enduras are exciting for me. There are many variations of green but Foliage green is not that appealing to me--a confessed green lover. I think the thing that is "wrong" with Foliage Green is that many feel Spyderco has gone overboard with it. They must have a $&!%load of it because it has appeared on many new and recent knives. It is exciting to hear about a new knife coming out and then you see it is going to be Foliage Green, i.e. Rock Lobster, Kukuri, G-10 Dragonfly, etc. FWIW, I have a FG Dragonfly and it will probably be my only FG knife unless I score a new Manix. :D

I don't mind the color. It makes the knife practically invisible clipped to my pocket. However, I don't look forward to looking for my knife if I'm unfortunate enough to drop it in the woods. For that purpose, blaze orange is a better choice.
