What's wrong with the ZT 0560?

How is it more difficult to clean an 056x than a knife with washers? Have you ever really had one apart? They couldn't be easier to clean, and they come apart and go back together just like a knife with washers.

For ZT ball bearing flippers I own a 0560 and a 0801cf. Took apart both of them. It is actually a little bit of OCD, but every time I have one of them with me for outdoor activities I would definitely take them apart after usage. But if I carry a SMF, I would just rinse it under hot water.

Just to clarify, the 560 uses a caged bearing system. Steel balls trapped in a plastic housing. As others have stated, it's no different than cleaning any other knife.

To avoid surprise size differences, feel free to ask for comparison pictures. Many of us here have Kershaw's Cryo and ZT's 0560. The same could be said for most knives you might have vs most you'd be thinking about buying. I for one, am happy to oblige comparison requests.

Love the 0560!

I happen to believe the 560 is a great knife. Arguably my second favorite ZT knife made, other than the ZT 562CF. It is a big, solid, well made knife.

The thing to keep in mind with any review is "What don't they like, and why?" The very thing the reviewer may not like ie: too big, may not be an issue for you.

I am not a fan of smaller folders. Anything in the sub 3.5 inch range is not for me. I know there are a metric ton of folders in the 2.75-3 inch range that sell like hot cakes. I won't make a video bashing them, I just know from experience that they aren't for me.

Hope this helps.

I just picked up the 0562CF recently and I'm giving it a few more weeks before I make a serious comparison Vs the 0560.
Personally, I think the 0560 will always have a bit of an edge in "flipability" just due to it's slightly larger, heavier blade.
But I need to break in this 0562CF before I can really say for sure.

I was a big fan of the 560 but now, not so much. I got the 560BW first and I had troubles with it: couldn't open it, then the lock bar would stick, it felt creaky when pushing out, etc.. Tried most of the stuff I saw. Still, I liked the design that I bought the stonewash 560. I liked it; it operated as well as I expected. Based on this comparison, I sent the BW back to ZT. It came back perfect. Because of this, I bought a second regular 560 to go to when I eventually wear out one of the first two.

Well, I didn't expect the wear to happen so soon. I got the regular stonewash 560 in March and now, at normal blade deployment, lock up is 80% and there's vertical play. To remove the play, I have to push in the lock bar to the 99% position. But if I do, I have to use both hands to unlock the bar. I see deformation of the lock bar at the top edge. I'll be sending it in.

I still like ZT's. I plan on getting the 452 when it's available. I'm musing on whether to get the 770cf because I got to handle a sample myself even though I like larger knives.

But now, I'm sporting a Benchmade 801 Contego which made me realize the 560's didn't come sharp out of the box as my two Benchmades I recently acquired or as sharp as the ZT 301 and 350 that I got prior to the 560s.

I am not sure how a video opinion is any different than one posted in a forum... there are plenty of people who do not know know what they are talking about in every corner of the internet...

True, but I doubt anyone comes on the forums trying to "be somebody" by reviewing knives.
Lotta YouTubers out there saw Nutnfancy 6 or 8 years ago and decided "hey, why not me too?!" so I think it's fair to say there's a lot more misinformation on YouTube.

A lot of the misinformation (not to mention "Is my knife fake??" paranoia) I see on the forums originates on YouTube.

Sure, but plenty of people will jump on a forum bandwagon to be "cool." Don't get me wrong they have plenty of people on youtube who are thinking they are the next nutnfancy... I just don't see how one medium means creditable content and then the other doesn't...

I'm not saying one is good and one is bad, just saying one is not as bad as the other.
From my personal experience, I find that people on the forums have less "to gain", if that's the right way to phrase it, by posting on the forums. There's really no "forum fame" to potentially be gained.
And again, a lot of the bullcrap I see on the forums seems, to me at least, to originate on YouTube. The debates spill over onto the forums.

Bark River comes to mind...

Fair enough...

I love mine. The only thing that isn't 100% perfect is the flipper doesn't exactly rocket the blade out. Basically a non issue. But for me it fits my hand perfectly, the clip feels nonexistant, it is beyond sturdy and razor sharp, holds its edge well and would be a damn good defensive blade. No problems whatsoever. In fact I might buy another one just because lol

I love mine too. 0560 BW. I can't think of anything I don't like, and it being a beautiful knife is just icing on the cake!
