What's your beater?

CS Medium Voyager Tanto picked up used(yes, I'm that cheap. ;) )

Don't care if I breka it, lose it, have it confistcated, whatever.

For bigger things, have a coupla CS Machetes, and one of my first knives I made(which will break on one of these jobs here sometime cuz I know it has a bad heat treat).

Hey,

My Spyderco Endura does all of the hard grit work. This knife is sharp and long. Scratched to all hell but it still cuts like a champ.

be safe all,

Mike

I take CS Bushman for that situation. When it breaks while the job, I'll take another one out of my drawer.

If I'm to choose one knife, I'll take my HI 20" Ang Khola.

Two regulars: a Benchmade Panther and a Cold Steel Gunsite Voyager. I could lose the Voyager and still sleep ok (there are plenty around to replace it), but I'd hate to lose the Panther. It's a great medium size folder that's not made anymore. Easy to clean up, and takes a very nice edge after being sharpened.. Great bang for the buck. geegee

I guess my beater is a 5 flanged mace on a 27" oak shaft. I spend too much time getting my knives and swords to hairpopping razor sharp to abuse them.

I'm with Rusty on this one. If I want to destroy a cinder block or etch my name in concrete I grab my trusty three-pound hand sledge and maybe a chisel. :p

For actual knife-related tasks my beater is my EDC, a Camillus Maxx Bowie. That thing is tough!

My new "beater" is a left handed, clip point REKAT Pioneer I. This is one tough knife! I really like the original lock release lever. The newer plastic switch made their folders look a bit cheap.

It's too bad that they're not around anymore. REKAT had some great products.

EDC beater is a Ka-Bar/Dozier folding hunter (I love this knife...and for $20 bucks??!). Truck beater is a Buck Nighthawk (excellent when the car in front of you clips a doe...one quick thrust to the heart and she's out of her misery); on-the-toolbelt-beater is a Gerber Gator (incredibly tough knife...I could go on and on about this one); high-risk-area beater is a BM Osborne tanto Axis (my first and only Axis..very happy with it!). All are proven tough, and easily replaced should they get gone (although I'd still shed a tear or two).

Used to be a CRKT Mirage, until the lock failed a few minutes ago.

I really must start looking into fixed blades. For now, beater is a BM Griptilian.

My CRKT M16-12Z with an Americanized tanto tip is the beater of my collection.

Once, I had one of those bottled coffees with the large metal cap, and somehow the cap fused onto the bottle. I passed it around to two friends and they had no idea how to get the cap off. Well, we were just setting into a 4 hour road trip, and that was the only drink I had, so I "opened" the cap with my M16. Foolishly, I twisted the blade after jamming it through the top, but it only left a tiny nick that was easily removed. I didn't even have to resharpen it even though the cap was metal.

The ease of sharpening and lack of any curves in the blade also make it a natural for stripping wires when doing work with electronics.

My DDR Bullnose Max. I love the blade shape and use this knife for just about anything that I run across during the day. I've been carrying it for about a year and would just about feel lost without it.

The one that I don't really mind abusing has got to be my Spyderco Rescue.
This knife has taken alot of punishment and keeps coming back for more!
