What's Your Body Type? (Yes, It's Relevant)

I'm 6' 1", 205 lbs. I carry a folder right front clip. Gerber right hip on belt. For field Operations I add a fixed blade on my IBA carried tip up on my left side.

I'm near 48 years old and I am 6' tall and scale around 350lbs. I work on a shop floor everyday except weekends where I am shooting or hunting or on my Motorcycle. I have carried a clip style knife in my right front pocket since I was 18. All types and sizes. From the original Spyderco Clipit to a ZT 0200. At times I wear a 110 or a Sebenza in a belt sheath or maybe a small FB of some sort. I almost always carry a small knife, most often a Slip-joint in my front left pocket. Some days I may carry a 38special or a Colt 1911. If I do I wear it on my right side over my right rear pocket. I don't carry near as much any more but sometimes when on a road-trip I'll go heavy with a firearm. So what should the knife industry build for my Phatt-Azz??????LOL!!!!

6'-0" and 210 lbs. Large hands.

I carry a Double Duty in my right front coin pocket, and the rig below (or something similar) on my right hip.

Haha! Ditto what Longbeachguy said...oh well though. I fit the demographics of this thread and quite possibly these forums at 6"1" and a solid 230 lbs. I absolutely love fixed blades with blade shapes similar to those of RC's, Scrapper 6's, and ASH's. Carry a scmall folder in my front right pocket most of the time though...

You guys are ruining my statistics!

Although, it doesn't seem unbiased that I ask this question in a forum that has members that predominantly use Kershaw, and hence, pocket clips. Crap, I've ruined my statistics!

Keep discussing though, please. This is interesting.

6'-2" 192 pounds.

I almost always carry pocket clip, right front. Occassionally I will carry a 110 or larger folder in its sheath. I predominantly carry and use Buck Knives but after tossing around the idea of kershaws for over a year now I just ordered my *first* Kershaws, a JYD II and a composite leek.
From what I have read here over the last while, I couldnt hold back any longer! Cool thread!

Kidding, I'm actually jotting all of this down so I can make some comparisons. Although, it doesn't seem unbiased that I ask this question in a forum that has members that predominantly use Kershaw, and hence, pocket clips. Crap, I've ruined my statistics!

I usually carry some sort of Emerson or Reeve, but I received my new Leek today :D. This will be my first Kershaw knife in about 15 years. It will get some EDC time tommorrow..

i'm tall/skinny... 6'2" 188lbs

I carry my folder clipped on my front pocket, facing the rear seam. Also occasionally carry a bigger folder clipped on my right-rear pocket, next to my wallet, when i'm in the mood. And sometimes a swiss army knife (with a beer-opener) finds its way into my left front pocket, loose.

6'1 and 169lbs I guess average for a 16 yr old. I carry my knives clipped in my right front pocket(tip up or down) with my LM on my belt and sometimes a neck knife.

I'm about 5ft 7in 115lbs. I carry knives either with the pocket clip or in a sheath depending on the knife. Heavy/large folders (buck 110) and of course fixed blades go in a belt sheath. Only light knives like my leek get carried clipped to the pocket.

6'2" , 230 lbs. I carry clipped in the front right pocket..... no blades bigger than 3" though..... ridiculous Atlanta laws.

6', 185 lbs. Always clipped in the front right pocket, tip up unless it would make about an inch of knife stick out (which is an issue with some Kershaws).

i find this thread ... well informative!
6'2.5" working life at 220 now at 290 and gray
never carried a pocket knife or clip much..
if i carry a work knife i want it on my belt
carried a 110 there since 1967
so either use to that, or set in my ways..

6'7.25" 280 lbs. Either right front pocket, right cargo side pocket, or occasionally worn on a belt sheath (mainly Buck 110). Being a big guy, I would like to get into custom G10 work so I can make wider scales for some of my knives.

Hey, the air is to thin up there for you to make comments like that. :grumpy:
;) :D

Did someone say something? Sorry, you'll have to speak up. BTW, you've got something on the top of your head.
We're all the same size on the Interweb :D

6'1" 235 lbs, I could shed a few pounds, but I lift heavy stuff for a living (at UPS), so there's a bit of muscle on my frame too. I nearly always pocket carry, I hardly ever use clips outside of the house, as when I'm not working I spend a lot of time in and around cars, and it is way too easy to inadvertantly brush up against a car (or a wall or furniture, etc) and take paint off. It just isn't worth the convenience to me to have a knife or multi-tool clipped to a pocket. Occasionally if I'm hiking or will be away from the cars for a long period of time, I'll clip it to my pocket, but I'd say 90% of the time or more when I'm out and about I'll carry inside my pocket.

5"9 and 192-lbs. I formerly was an MMA fighter and then got old. Still have a 46-inch chest and a 36-inch waist. As I am a Process Server, I carry a neck knife on my belt for quick release and a back-up pocket clip knife in my pocket along with pepper spray on my belt and occasionally a bullet proof Kevlar vest.

Interesting thread, I'd sure like to see the results of this informal survey if the data ever gets organized. I'm 5'11.5" and about 175lbs. When I'm at work I'll have a my EDC clipped in my right front pocket (EDC varies between 3"-3.75" blade). When I'm in the field I'll have my EDC (same place) as well as my leatherman wave and LED mini-mag flashlight on my belt. I'll ususally have a fixed blade and a machete on my pack. With out even analyzing the results it looks like the average knife carrier is a wee bit larger than the average person.
