What's your EDC light?

Backup today.

I'm just curious as to what lumen-launcher you guys carry and why you carry it. I carry a Fenix PD31 because I like the design and the versatile settings.

I too, carry a PD31. I chose it because I wanted an upgrade from my L2D, and I already had 18650s and chargers for my lasers. It carries easily, it's painfully bright on turbo, surprisingly mild on low, and it has proven to be robust enough to survive a butter-fingered klutz like me.

I copied and pasted this from EDCF - my EDC/ENC lights

Silver ones are EDC (Muyshondt Neutral TI Aeon on neck lanyard and Sunwayman V10R Ti in CBLME Kydex holster on my belt)

the dark ones are ENC (every night carry) - the 9P is bored for 2x18500 and has a Moddoo Neutral Triple dropin, and rides in a Ripoffs nylon holster.

the big light is a Gen 2 Maxabeam with ParkerVH adapters and a Ushio UXL75-XE Bulb and rides in the boot (trunk) of whatever car im driving - a true 7.2 million CP searchlight that is supposed to be able to reach out 2 miles (pic below is around a kilometre - around 3000 feet)

I'm wearing a Fenix TK12 R5 within my Maxpedition Jumbo. I don't necessarily need it all the time, but for a nice backup flashlight it does the job very well. And for EDC use, you can't ask for more.

I'm glad that you guys have lights that work for you. I don't understand why not EVERYONE carries a flashlight, considering it's dark around 12 hours everyday and it's not always bright inside..

I have had this discussion heaps of times. "why do you carry a light"

My normal response is "would you carry an umbrella or a jacket if there was a 50% chance of rain today ? - there is a 100% chance of darkness tonight ! - walking into something, or stepping on stuff can be a lot more uncomfortable than just getting a little wet"

Can't really rememberer why I starting carrying a light, probably just this problem though, now I have though i can't imagine not, on th few occasions I've be light-less since the I have almost immediately found myself asking the other question, "how do you not carry a light?" whether it's trying to locate a wire at the back of the pc/tv or crossing the yard at night you don't have to venture into the wilderness to find a use, nay, a need for a flashlight.

Using your phone as a flashlight is just like using one of your keys to open a box. And the people always asking for your knife or torch are the same ones asking you why you carry them.

The only time I don't have a light on me is when I'm in the shower (there is a waterproof one within reach though) and when I am swimming.
It's been at least 10 years since I didn't edc a light, and I too don't know how people live without one

Even when I am sleeping I have my Muyshondt Aeon around my neck. (you know your a flashlight nut when your iPad has learnt the word muyshondt and autocorrects it)

depending on how im dressed, the edc knives tend to rotate, as do the pistols, but the surefire is a daily thing. great light

Most of the time, I carry a Quark 2x123 head on an 18650 body. Crazy volume of lumens, yet still packs a long runtime with the 18650 rechargeable. Open top belt holster not shown.

So what's the deal with the PD31? I've been hearing that there were only 5000 made. Is that true?

EDC? Ignoring the little AAA Fenix on the keychain and the SF C2 Centurion in the laptop bag - then either a HDS/Ra or a little Novatac 120.

I use a Photon Rex quite often. Though I love to use all my other little lights, the Rex is just so EDC ready. :)
