What's your favorite .22LR ammo?

I would have said remington thunderbolts would top the list of dirty, also inconsistent velocity and general nastyness.

The last time i used them the firing report was I different volume for each one and they pepper my face with hot grit out of a semi.
 
About 20 years ago, I was given a Ramline Exactor .22 pistol (remember those?). The thing was a piece of junk, which gave me frequent failures to feed, failures to eject, and failures to lock the bolt open after the final shot no matter what I fed it.

With CCI Stingers, it works flawlessly, and is more accurate too.
 
I like rem thunder bolts when I want to be quiet, and anytime else I use winchester bulk in my 10.22, since it likes it. It hates fed bulk though.
 
My 10/22 will get an occasional misfire with Winchester bulk, but devours everything else.
 
Norinco (Chinese) standard velocity lead does wonders for my match grade Clark Ruger MK II. They' re a bit dirty. But consistently groups a quarter size ragged hole at 75'. These are super rare and comes in a jumbo oversized sardine can of 800 rounds. For general purpose/ plinking- CCI Blazers. Small game- CCI Mini Mag HPs. Stingers for up close work. :)

Last time I bought bulk ammo from that big store, I had at least 30% failure to fire. Great rim strikes from the firing pin, but no boom. I was never impressed with the accuracy, either.

I'm shooting a Remington 597 with a Nikon scope in BKL Tech rings (which are incredibly awesome and certainly the best on the market if you're interested in putting glass on a .22 or air rifle). This rifle has always been finicky about the ammo and I'm beginning to think that the barrel might be bad. I can shoot .50" groups at 50yd except for that one flier that makes it a two inch group!

The best performance to date has been from Wolf 40g Match. Very consistent performance!
