What's your favorite bade finish?

Speaking from an aesthetic point of view:

I like satin finishes, and polished finishes the best. I wish more makers would do mirror polishes, I know it is harder to do, but I would pay a little more for it, because IMO it is awesome. A 0452cf with mirror polish?

I am getting tired of all the stonewashed blades, they are ok, but I much prefer two tone, with stonewashed flats, and satin or polished grinds, that is sexy. ;) polished stonewash is ok too (seeing a pattern here?).

I don't dig bead blast, but it's not a deal killer (close though).

Coated blades are not my first choice, but not a deal breaker.

I do not like any kind of acid wash, etch, or acid whatever. I think it's ugly.

All is IMHO, YMMV. :)

I like satin and polished also.

I will NEVER buy another coated knife.

Stonewash is ok with me.

For me, whatever glides through material is good with me.

Satin or polished also. Have gone as far as polishing knives that came bead blasted.

Bead blast. And I agree about the painted blades, no paint belongs on a blade unless it ends up there from use.

I prefer polished, hand satin, satin and stonewash. In that order as well. The only exception is in knives I have as EDC blades I prefer stonewash as they hide a lot of the day to day wear. I loath coated blades and I really dont care for bead blast. I too would like to see mirror polished blades. Unfortunately it is a very costly option and especially with modern alloys very hard to do successfully. And in production knives almost unheard of.

Stonewashed and satin.

...and also blackwashed even though I'm embarrassed to say it. I know it's tacticool but I like how it looks.

#*@ knife makers*#$

Stop coating blades! Unless those mall ninjas support your company...

In no particular order:

Dark acid etched and Stone Washed
Stone Washed
Media blasted and Stone Washed

Satin or Stonewash.

Right now, I'm really liking Heavy Stonewash, Blackened Stonewash, or Dark Forced Patina.

Satin finished knife, belt finish, or a custom with a hand rubbed finish.
Stonewashed, or Blackwashed (ZT)

Stonewash is my favorite the polish that spyderco use on the delica is nice . I really dislike the blade finish on the manix2

Blade finish is inane

Mine are either in the sheath or doing stuff like this.

Who cares what's on the blade

I don't like bead blast and I don't like a painted blade. A good DLC, maybe. Coated blades have been deal breakers for me.

I'm surprised at the result here so far because there are so many black blades out there. I think steel should shine. In my experience bead blast is more prone to allow rust. I will buy a lesser steel in satin before a better steel in bead blast if I like the knife. The only coated blades I own are strictly outdoor knives.

I like mirror, satin, stonewashed, I do like some stone/satin blades and a few of the two-tones utilizing coatings. I don't mind a few scratches on a user satin blade but do like the way stonewashing can help with hiding them.

I like blued blades also. Have done some cold bluing with mixed results. Next I want to start forced patinas in patterns.
