What's Your Favorite Barlow?

Beautiful, Steve, as good as a Barlow ever needs to be. The sunset bone is some of Case's best.

Latest pic of my Richie.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm pretty enamored with it as well!

AusLoX AusLoX - I think I may have mixed you up with another member regarding Reddit posts, but the rest still stands!

Did you win the GEC raffle?! I admire your collection frequently.... See your posts on Reddit as well. Always a pleasure!

Some really fantastic collections and just outstanding Barlow's in general here. Mine pales in comparison, but I love what I have.

Current obsession.....
That’s a beauty there! I really want to order one of those, but I am a little hesitant based on the stockman that I recently received from that series. Lance

J Just Tom. You are very right there, fact is the Barlow was always an honourable inexpensive work-knife , it's only lately it's become some kind of costly fetish ;) But some are undeniably really fine too
Very true words! While I think RayseM RayseM Barlow 'The Stag Barlow Night' is absolutely exquisite, to me the Barlow has always been the cheap heavy duty working man's knife. I've gotten a few people at work to carry them because of that association.

Thanks, agreed. That rock you show with the Barlow really rocks too, something special?

I completely agree that the BARLOW is a quintessential work knife. I love the form and have always found it cool and useful.

It was perfect timing though when I found the Lloyd and at the same time Sarah Ladd was just starting to post her work here on the forum. Was impossible to resit - the big canvas of the barlow bolsters and the beautiful details of Sarah's engravings. I asked and proposed the theme and she agreed and took up the challenge. She far exceeded my expectations. Since receiving it, I have not dared to use it. Was out in the woods for a few photos but otherwise a safe queen. A silly fate for a barlow I know but after all a worthy respect for this singular piece of art. The moon and the sun are colored with real gold. :)

I don't even like Barlow's but this one is a beauty! Does Sarah still post here? She's has amazing skill.

Sadly for us - I hope good for Sarah - she has not been posting here since January of 24. Maybe it would be worth a look to see if she is on Facebook or Instagram with her work. I don't have access to either.

It's not really a silly fate for a barlow to me. Even though I view the pattern itself as the original beater knife, yours is a true work of art!! Nothing wrong with a gentrified work horse! As for safe queens, I have way too many of those myself!

I didn't realize that Sarah did engraving. It is phenomenal!

All barlow's are welcome here..... Thanks for sharing that one!
