What's your Favorite Benchmade, and Why?

I pretty much like the whole axis series & older linner locks as well, but the 705 is my all time favorite. It will do everthing the larger models do and is legal to carry in most places. IMHO its one of the best little knifes ever made.

The good old AFCK. I have yet to see one the has any blade play when open or doesnt lock up perfectly. Also, every one I have owned has been so smooth opening that the hole wasnt even needed. A flick of the wrist would open the knife.

This was the second knife I ever bought from benchmade, and I absolutely loved it. THe knife size and the recurve blade just felt great.

The 710 in M2, without a doubt. This is the only production knife I’ve found that competes with the large Sebenza. The blade has the best utility shape I’ve ever encountered in a large folder, and M2 is simply amazing. It’s like a partially stainless 1095. The G10 scales look like they were pummeled with an ugly stick, but they do grip well. The handle is surprisingly comfortable in a variety of grips. And Axis….. We all know how great the Axis lock is.

Yes. I have two of them. the 941 is the normal model, and the 941-01 is the special blue handled model.
They made 6 Prototypes (according to my local knife shop, don't know if that is correct)
and 500 models in a limited run, which comes with a nice display case/box.

You should be able to find a limited run 941-01 for somewhere between 120-150. The prototypes will be more.

I don't have a 690, but I have played with it, and it is sweet! If only it were AXIS lock I would buy it. I just can't get myslef to buy another folder that isn't AXIS, or Auto :)
I might have to at the AXIS version AFCK to my collection. Still want a 770 as a 'church' carry blade.

I just can't say enough good things about Benchmade! You guys rock!
Oh, and you should make the 910 and 905 Strykers with AXIS locks!

My favorite is the 710hs. A VERY close second would have to go to the 730cfhs, a rather rare (500) beauty with carbon fiber scales and M2 steel. The 730 actually sees more pocket time as a result of being slightly smaller and far better looking.

Mine is still the out of production Benchmade 975SBT With the actual Birdsong Black T coating. Rock Solid and tight, razor sharp and a great Emerson design done as well as its ever been done short of custom. I dont know why the current Emerson versions only offer the shorter blade. This is the 3.75 inch blade version, the larger of the two offered. Next favorite is the 730 buts probably because I dont have a 710 or new axis AFCK.

Tough question... I've been carrying my 705 quite a bit lately, so I'll say that's my favorite, for now.

I've only got one benchmade but it's actually my favorite knife. It's a BM42 and I just have so much fun learning to flip it that it certainly gets the "fun factor" award over any of my other knives.

Well, if I could have only one, it would be the 710HS...

But if I think about longevity and versatility, I have always had a Mini AFCK in my daily carry rotation. The Mini AFCK was my first Benchmade knife, so it was there long before the 710 was even a sketch on the drawing board; the 800 AFCK has come and gone in my "collection" as my trust in liner locks has decreased, and then as it was brought back with the Axis lock.

I've done the most hard cutting with a model 800 AFCK since that was what I was carrying before my father retired from commercial fishing, and I did a lot of work around the boat with that first AFCK.

Right now, the knife I enjoy the most is the 690-01 that I carry to work frequently. But it is not like a real knife, it is a liner lock pocket knife.

The one I use the most lately is the 40T balisong trainer. :)

So what's my favorite?

I dunno'. The 710HS, I guess. ;)

Right now, it's my 940 KOTM Blue handle. Love the Axis lock. I bought a 941 and was going to trade out the blade on the KOTM (like the clip point better) but traded that within the hour to get a DDR Appogee. I used to own an 850P with pearl handles instead of ivory Micarta, and I'd have to say that was the most beautiful knife I have ever handled. I WILL have one again, someday.

Well for folder I like the 705, 710 and 940 ( my current EDC knife of the week)
The new Balisong 4X series Rocks ! I love my BM42A !!

My Benchmade 710, because it has a solid lockup, feels comfortable, and is scary sharp. (I don't know why I don't use this knife for EDC, but I just can't put down my Spyderco.)

My BM 42 is second, because it is a quality made Bali, and it is so much fun to flip.

My BM43 is my new fav/EDC. Can't seem to put it down since I got it a few weeks ago. I love to play with any knife, but you can have so much more fun with a Bali.
