So, 940-1 for EDC... BUT, I've been working on a friend's horse ranch for the last two weeks and I wouldn't be caught dead without my 810.

What all are you having to do that the 940 can't handle?

Couldn't pick at the moment. Only one haven't carried lately is the 275 cause been to lazy to sharpen it. So been carrying 585 mostly followed by 810.

Some light prying, chopping, and general abuse from riding thigh pocket in Carhartt's while I roll around in dirt. I built a fence around the arena out of log home scraps and railroad ties. The saw can't get all the way through some of it, so out comes the 810 to remove the jagged tops. Plus, anything a weed eater wouldn't get though on other parts of the property. I REALLY don't want to scratch the 940-1, so the bruiser comes out to play.

I've gotta get some pics up!

Pics would be cool. I'm curious, why carry a folder over a fixed blade for that kind of work?

The folder is easier to deploy and put back thanks to the Axis Lock. Also, carrying a fixed blade as large as the 810 would take up a bit too much room. When I bought my 810, I had/have a hunch that it will end up back at the factory in pieces at some point. Damn thing refuses to die, and if Benchmade refuses to warranty it if it breaks (they won't), I'd happily buy another one.

You may have just sold me a contego. ;)

This makes me want to dig my Contego out of the drawer. It WAS a great knife until I ruined it on a work sharp sharpener. Need to spend some time with it and the edge pro and start carrying it again.

In the same way with my Adamas.:D Never attempt to sharpen your knife unless your fully commited to it or you"ll wind up with a terrible edge i found out. Gotta get the right mind set before i make another attempt free handing.

I love several BM's for EDC but lately I've been giving a humble plain jane mini Grip plenty of carry and use and it still stands up to any of the fancier EDC size folders I own across many brands.

51 morpho and/or 3300 infidel. The morpho handles abuse as good as any knife I have ever carried. Three years of edc and I've only sharpened it once and it also has not one bit of looseness in the open and locked position. Rust on the blade is my only complaint and it was my fault. The morpho has exceeded my expectations of a bali-song's durability. G-10 handles and titanium liners was the standard of the classic liner lock benchmades that I fell in love with, and it is IMHO even better served on the Bali-song platform. Carried a 44, 62 and now a 51. My infidel has been spared the daily wear and tear of life in a machine shop and camping trips and in return it has the ability to make a would be mugger throw their hands up and walk away.

I am not familiar with that Benchmade, could you post more pictures of this knife? What model # is it?
Thanks

Happy to oblige:

It is the model 335 Big Spender. Stainless liner/frame lock, very thin and light and a clip that's perfect for money clip duty.
