What's your favorite Benchmade EDC?

I`ve had a Griptilian 550 as my work edc now for about three years. Lost my first after about a year but already had one in back up so the next day I could still have a grip as edc.
As for after work it depends on what I`m doing and where I`m going. I have a blue mini grip that sees alot of use these days.

Most carried favorite EDC was an original AFCK in ATS-34 steel I carried while on active duty. Got it in the early-mid nineties I think and carried it for many years. Then it was replaced by the 910 Stryker for a few years.

Retired both when I retired in 2009 (still have them) and since, the Rift has been my favorite EDC until I got the Contego last year which is my current favorite EDC.

I absolutely love the Rukus but since it's discontinued and I can't replace it I don't carry it. If they were still in production there's no doubt it would be in my pocket every day. Just don't want to risk losing it or messing it up. It's a fantastic knife on many levels. Just like the AFCK.

One of the top picks is this 710D2; the BK coating failed, and after many hours of work, mostly by hand this is the result:

I put the silver clip on, (never mind the dust in the pics please...) and replaced the plastic spacer for standoff's, then sent it off to Benchmade for a 30/15+15 edge.

890 Torrent for its light weight & 154cm blade, so lightweight I forget I have it on me. After that: 615 & 610 Rukus's, truly classic design. Large Ritter grip wearing Wilkins scales.

Hey everyone, I am new to blade forums. My other half is bje and he invited me on here to learn more about knives. I took his benchmade 940 and I love benchmade. I feel they are better than any others out there for me. Any thoughts on other knives I might like is welcome. I'm open to learning all I can.

Welcome to the forums! There are lots of other good options in the BM lineup. If you want something similar to the 940 but bigger you could check out the 950 Rift, or if you want something a lot bigger, the 810 Contego. The Mini-Grip is also a great knife, it's about the same weight and slimness as the 940 but shorter, available in many different blade styles and handle colorations. You really can't go wrong:thumbup:

I EDC the mini grip if I need something light and small, playing sports, coaching etc. I carry the large Bone Collector with the green and black G10 the rest of the time. Love the BC, just a plain awesome outdoors edc. I got a great deal on the 162 Bushcrafter #153, just can't bring myself to use it yet. I need to trade it for an unnumbered one so I can play with it...

Hi Katherine, welcome to the Forums and glad to have a lady present~! There's a lot to learn, take your time and enjoy...the 940 is a very nice place to start!

Thanks! I love the mini grips and want one in pink. I'm thinking about getting an opinal #6 so I can kinda make it my own. Funny story about the 940 is my other half was going to sell it and had left it on the table and I saw it, started playing with it and I told him that I'm taking it. It's just such a great little knife to have as my first one. I have nothing and to say.

Mine is a toss-up right now. It definitely (absolutely) used to be the small Axis-Bone Collector in either Green G10 or Walnut. Once I pulled the assist spring-hub out of my mini-Barrage, it suddenly became a favorite in the rotation.

That being said, the 300SN Axis-Flipper has absolutely dominated the Benchmade portion of my carry rotation lately. Very stout (yet small) knife.

I EDC a fixed blade Griptillian quite often. It's a great, relatively compact fixed blade that is quite well rounded for all kinds of stuff...definitely a jack of all trades fixed blade that's small enough to conceal under a t shirt, which I like.

I've been thinking about getting some custom scales for it.
