I love the Spyderco leaf shaped blades. They look very cool and, before I lost it, my Dragonfly was just a lovely little cutting tool. It cut like a bigger knife, and was just a beautiful little knife to hold. Did I mention that I really liked the Dragonfly? Of course the modified Wharncliffe blade of the Endura is pretty good too.
I depends on what I am cutting, I really like drop points and leaf shape. If I am cutting open a hard plastic blister pack then I prefer a good hawkbill, like the spyderco harpy. I can get a lot of leverage and pull on it, without worrying about it slipping as much as other style blades.
I enjoy a good variety of shapes. Most of my knives appear to be a drop point though.
Lately though I've been eyeing up a few wharncliff and reverse tanto blades.
Clip point is about my overall favorite with the upswept Persian type a close second. They do what I use them for most which is cutting boxes and good for whittling but I really just like the aesthetics of them.
Reverse tanto for sure. High flat ground (I believe the Rift and Contego are thinner behind the edge than a pm2), sturdy point, yet stabby and just lovely to look at in person. Especially the Rift.
I like the nice big belly on leaf shape blades! Drop points are nice too though and you can't go wrong with a clip point for intricate tasks but their acute tip leaves them susceptible to snapping.
Reverse tanto for me too. My most used is the BM Griptilian with the thumb hole. I have a Contego, but haven't decided if I wanna keep it or not because the G10 is really sharp around the edges, but that blade shape is really nice.
I like them all, no favoritism here as I carry tantos , spear points, reverse tantos, they all have their intended purpose, So it's more of a what are you going to do with your knife question with me not which do you prefer, because honestly I couldn't choose.
