I had forgotten how light it is. It's a great weight for carrying even fully loaded. 5 whole rounds. :D

I got a Ruger AR556 last week. I figured I might as well jump on the bandwagon before its too late.
A Leupold scope will be here tomorrow for it.

I really do have a 'need' for it though, not just a range toy. A few weeks ago I was sitting on my back porch and 5 wild hogs came running through the yard. It was a mom and 4 babies. Even the babies were knee high!
By the time I got the Henry 22 out and a few bullets put in the hogs were already in the woods. I bought the Ruger AR the very next day. :p

Right out of the box I was hitting water bottles with the iron sights from 30 yards out. Once the scope gets put on ill site it in at 50 yards. I know ARs can shoot much further than that, but my 8 acre yard is the only place ill need to shoot it. So, 100 yards or so is about my max distance.

Im pleased with the purchase. Its the first AR ive ever owned.

Ill get some pics up this weekend and maybe start a 'Rifle Thread' on here.

Recent grabs, newer and older - CZ75B in .40 and a '48 DUO in 6.35...one is definitely more concealable than the other! I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but hopefully someday soon.

Remington Model 31L Light weight with Colonial choke tube modification and added recoil pad for 3/8" additional LOP
Pump gun
12ga. 28", plain barrel,
6 lbs, 4 ounces!
A pheasant gun extraordinaire.
circa 1949.. A fairly newish gun for me!
I'll take it turkey hunting since the light to carry function outweighs the lack of 3" chamber....I rarely ever shoot at a turkey, and the few I have killed have been inside of 25yards. Just need to add sling swivels.

Glad to see you finally found one, now I don't feel bad about getting the 16 gauge from you many years ago.

Wife bought me a mossin and a single shot 20 gauge from a garage sale the other day all for under 125 the 20 is going squirrel hunting this weekend

The gun is not new but the knife is, I always carry a conventional rigging knife but now these are my edc's. The knife has a shackle key built into the blade and the separate fid is so much easier to work with. For my situation the Shield is the perfect EDC, mine has the Techna Clip that can't be seen in this pic and the Crimson Trace laser.

I'm looking at buying a Rock Island Armory baby rock here soon.

quite a bit cheaper than a Kimber and the warranty service is less than an hour from my house.
