Whats your favorite Kershaw carry knife?

Currently I'm using the Chill as my EDC knife. For about $20, this is a very solid and sturdy knife. The 8Cr13MoV isn't the absolute greatest (it develops rust spots easily), but it does what I need it to. It takes care of letters and packages and string just fine, and I hear they're fairly easy to sharpen, as well. I'm looking into buying a Skyline in 14C28N because I've heard nothing but good things about it. :)

Go Kershaw!

I still carry my original outlaw bill around every once in awhile...

Looking into getting a composite junkyard dog soon :D

And of course a zt eventually

Skyline. Trumps all my other knives (except for the ZDP Walker) for carry time. Nothing like a thin, decently long sharp folder that weighs less than 2 oz.

In the past month plus a little in trade/buying I've gotten a 0551, 0300, 0200, speed bump ti, and a lahar from knivesplus. The last one they had!
Faves and most carried will be the 0300, 0551, and the lahar.

I would say the OCC cycles folder but the lack of any opening assist - not even a nail knick - is a deal-breaker for me. The Mini-Cyclone in Ti and ZDP was the perfect EDC but the torsion spring broke twice in a year.
I'm going to say the ZT 0700 for walking around town, or the 3500 "Speedform" for dress-up.
The 0100 is a fantastic fixie when going in hot. i have an early model 0100 (serial #xxxx) that has seen more than its fair share of ugly duties better suited to screwdrivers, prybars and lineman's pliars and hatchets, and it rarely even asks for a sharpening in return, not even showing the scrapes and rust that i have come to expect from the best tool steels - and the geometry... well, you got the idea a while ago.

Mine is still my very fun and useful RAM! If my voice was deeper I think I could say it like Sam Elliott!

my S60V Blur Blem sees most EDC use.
close 2nd would be the poor-man's ZT, the G10 Tyrade.

My Speedform II and RAM duke it out for pocket time 90 percent of the time.
Both feel different in hand but both feel great.

The Zt/Hinderer flipper will be my favorite without a doubt :D as of now its the ZT 0551, before that it was a tie between my Speedform 2 and my DLC Shallot. Hey Mr. Mastiff, Id really like to see that modded Speedform 2. I was thinking of doing something along the lines of what you did to yours but adding a different poket clip and some different g10 handles but lazy'd out after I got my 0551.

my SKYLINE rides daily in my pants pocket.
if I have to change out ... go with my Kershaw Needs Work ... lil more bulky... but a real lil worker.
be a bunch of retired knives laying around ... all brands and styles.
When I reach into my pocket ... grab me a handfull of Kershaw
yeah baby

RoRoRo, It's pretty ugly. I sharpen by hand and tend to scratch things up. Then I sandpaper a lot of the scratches out. Notice I say a lot rather than all, or go to a nice satin finish. Yeah, it's ugly, but the very edge sparkles in many colors when held just right. It just wipes arm hairs away above the skin without a sound.

I have to admit to having some darksider leanings. I'm not going to treat my 551, Blur or Speedform like that though. The thought of uglying them up bothers me. I don't need to anyways. It's not necessary with Elmax. That was my Elmax experimental blade. I tried all different angles and widths on it all the way down to zero.

What I found out is it's a super clean steel that had no inclusions or imperfections and a really fine grain structure. Whether you want to run it weirded out like mine, or just keep it stock and sharpen it as needed Elmax can really do it all without sweating. IMO, it has better edge stability due to these strengths than S30V, D2, and other high performing steels in which class it falls.

No, I wouldn't put it in super premium class like S110V, and S90V, 10V, etc., but a step lower. It also likely can perform well without getting too chippy up to it's hardness limits ( reasonable ones anyway).

We sure didn't have steels like these back in the 80's, or even 90's. :) Stainless meant "suck" in 1980. (except for 440C of course which was in Buck and Gerber knives that I couldn't afford on my army salary)

Sorry, I really don't even own a camera.

I don't have many Kershaws, but I still have and use all of them. I reckon my favourite one for general carry is the humble Chill or maybe the Zing.

I think I need to pick up a few more Kershaws... :)
