Whats your favorite knife?

This may be cheating, but My favorite knife is a Kephart style blade, but there are many makers so here is a few. As you can tell I really like them.

I usually carry a Victorinox "Tinker" and a Cold Steel "Recon 1". That being said, I "ALWAYS" carry my Buck 309 "Companion". I have carried it since 1977. It is my favorite knife because it gets lost in the pocket, but has taken care of 99% of the cuttin i needed done. It scares no one. In fact a woman asked "why such a small knife". A friend replied,"that's not a knife,it's his pocket scalpel". regards Henry

A lot of people have never seen a scalpel.

Now you have. Incredibly small blade. Nope, I wouldn't want one in my pocket.

This is about my limit when it comes to "pocket knives":

This one (for the moment, at least...;)) - Eight dot 62055

Why? Why not?:p

Seriously though, I have too many knives which are "favorites" for various reasons - I don't think I could single out just one.

I've carried quite a few knives over the years but still come back to the Delica for the majority of my carry time in pocket. Anything over a 3 inch blade can be considered a dangerous weapon in MI, so I'm limited. Many times, I find a handle just isn't comfortable for my big hands (I'm almost 6'8" and 315 lbs). The Delica fits the bill perfectly for me. My Boker Trance gets the 2nd most pocket time.

I too love the Delica. Mine seem to always get a turn in the pocket no matter what latest-and-greatest folder I've just picked up... just a great carry knife!

Funny thing...the one that finds the way to my pocket (most often) is an Opinel #7. It is a very light knife, crazy sharp and cuts like mad. I don't notice the knife when I carry it. The high carbon blade gets sharp quickly and seems to cut better than many of my other expensive folders. I'd say my Opinel slices better than any of my Miltary folders. This is a truly an astounding compliment.

Opinels are awesome. Affordable, beautiful, practical. I have an Opinel No. 8 that I put a custom patina on (see me do it here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...el-No.-8?highlight=horseradish+mustard+patina). It has replaced my Buck 186 as my go-to box/string/cord/letter opener on the table next to my front door. I love opening it the traditional way (hold the bolster, tap the tip end on the table). :D

Whoa.... that's beautiful. Tell us more, please. Did you commission it?

Fellow forum member Defaultuser made it for me. It was a full on custom, collaborative effort. It's a friction folder made of CPM154 steel, natural linen micarta scales, ti clip. Default makes a damn fine folder... I really dig the cap-lifter as well. :D
