What's your favorite Traditional fixed blade knife?

My favorite is a Canadian belt knife by JK here on the forums. The CBK is one of those patterns that is just "right." That is the only way I can put it... and the thick handle that John puts on this knife just tops it off in my opinion, makes it more usable for prolonged periods than the thinner handles (for my tired hands anyway).

I can't choose a specific production knife, but will say that the Puuko style (Norwegian and sweedish versions included) is by far my favourite, as I never tire of getting new ones!

But for a single knife, the knife I made and wore for my wedding takes the top spot! The funny thing is the knife started as a piece of scrap that I tried my first file work experiments with. After my left leg re-broke, and the handle for the sword I was making broke I saw the knife in the steel and decided I was going to wear a knife one way or another, and for a knife that wasn't designed it fits me perfectly!! CPM 154, ironwood with red fiver liner. No pins, so it won't hold I've been told, except that the gorilla glue has held for nearly six years, being almost my sole neck knife in that time! (I hope it qualifies as a traditional).

Here it is on my first mountain hike after breaking my legs:

I've never been a fan of this style but John makes me want to give it another go with his example.

Steve, it's one of my favorite models, but one that I wasn't sure I'd like until I had it in hand. I think there's only been one run of them. Very light, fits wonderfully in the hand and has a nice thin blade. Quite the slicer.

I'm not sure if the G10 version qualifies as a traditional knife, but the Spyderco BushcraftUK is my favourite knife, fixed or not (Ahti Tikka added to make up for the G10 :p ):

It simply outperforms everything else I have in every way.

You just had to show it, didn't you? :p

That BHK is one of the (semi?) custom knives of the Sharpfinger patterns I failed to see until it was too late to get one. I may yet luck onto one at the same time as I have the funds though. It is certainly appealing to a Sharpie kind of guy!

You and me both Codger. Kind of hoping since BHK split up that either Dan or L.T. do another version.

The first one I tried was the Cold Steel version. I liked the handle to blade off-set but the thinness of the grip made my hands cramp after awhile. The Handle on Johns rendition is superb by comparison and my hands do not cramp/arthritis does not flare when I use it.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it about the CBK style you don't like?

Well it's a tough decision.................

Probably the one in the middle (Remington RH-33) followed closely by the old Marbles Ideal just to the right..

Thanks to my friend Michael, I have become a huge fan of these two patterns.

And this little Phillip Patton is ridiculously nice even if I can't take good enough pics to do it justice. And if I'm not bright enough to wipe the handle after using it for my dinner.

And of course I absolutely love the one in my sigline of course I did design it.:)
