What's your favorite ZT NON-assisted opening knife?

It would be a tossup for me between my 0562, and my 0452.

My 560 has the best action; always deploys strong from either flipper or thumb stud. My 392 looks awesome, and has a good action, but I always end up shying away from carrying it. My favorite is the 562; it is the right size and feel for edc for me, and gets the most pocket time of all my knives.

I like the 0801 and 0808 best for smoothness of action. The 0562cf gets carried the most, though I can't rightly say why. The 0550 is a beast but mine is annoyingly stiff to open. For my hands the 0450 feels too small, the 0452 felt too big; I really wish the new Sinkevich had been a compromise between the two.

I have 3....450, 452CF and 562CF.......it would be impossible to pick my fav of the 3 tho.
All are amazing flippers, just amazing! All have sexy blades. All are great in hand. All are smooth as melted butter and all are excellent cutters.
I am obviously no help whatsoever!!
Sorry
Joe

Another Vote for the 550.
I also deassisted my 556 and it is an awesome manual flipper after polishing the washers. Currently thinking about a 808 which should be an excellent manual flipper, but I don't own that yet.

The 0500 is by far my favorite knife they've ever made. Hard to get nowadays, though.

I agree that the 0550 is a favorite.
They're not that hard to find though.
Kershawguy has some in stock for a great price.

No, I'm talking about the G&G Hawk designed ZT 0500 MUDD. Best knife ZT ever made.

Oops :o
Yes, those are very hard to come by. One of the few I've never actually seen in person :D

My first and only ZT is the 0808 and I feel it's been a great knife. It served me well for 4 months of solid outdoor work down in the Caribbean. Sure has been great user!

The ZT 0560 BW is my favourite non-assisted ZT of all times.

This is my favorite folder as well. I've used these in the worst of worst conditions and used them as I would a fixed. Never failed in anyway and the 560 BW is my favorite model.

Got quite a few i like, but the 0909 has really wowed me over. The build quality is fantastic for the price point. The size feels so small compared to the specs but in a good way. I like bigger folders but not always a big handle. the 0909 handle size is about perfect. This knife is a winner. The hinderer designs were nice, but this one beats 'em..and that is saying a lot.

I gotta say, I am drooling over this model. I'm glad to hear your words on the 909. I'm hoping it will be as rugged as the 300. The 900 is too small and heavy, so I was hoping for the 909 to be a winner. Do you feel the liner lock is as sturdy as the frame lock? In general, how do you feel about the liner lock on the 909?

Another plug for the 0550. I have a Gen I that is a rock. But, as I prefer flippers, currently, I'm going to give top spot to the 0561.

One that is my favorite knife, overall, but won't be considered available, anymore, is the 0600. My grail knife! Beautiful, precise, ergonomically perfect, and just plain sexy! It is a goddess among all other knives that would be merely mortals, by comparison.

I've yet to own a 0562CF, and I imagine it would be a great knife, but I doubt it could knock the 0600 out of supreme pinnacle position.

the zt 0801 is amazing, i just did a little house cleaning on my knife collection. I decided that i would rather have just a couple really amazing knives (i bought a microtech scarab and a Brad Southard Tolk midtech with the money i made selling my knives) instead of a lot of just good knives. The ZT0801 was the only one i kept. I also just bought the new ZT0804cf which like the 0801 is a todd rexford design and it is amazing.

i cant describe the smoothness of both these knives. however i just bought a brad southard tolk midtech and my ZT knives are smoother. i dont see how it can get any better then what it is. These two knives have ruined all other manual flippers for me. ive played with full customs, midtechs and lots of production knives and non of them are better then the 0801 (i just got the 0804cf so i didnt have it on hand when i did those side by side comparisons but its almost as smooth as the 0801. I think once it breaks it in will be as good)

The 0801 is the best production knife available in my opinion, i think the 0804cf will end up being just as good but ive only had it for a day so i am unable to say definitively. Ive had the 0801 for over a year now and i still enjoy playing with it. I like trying to push on the flipper really softly to try and get the blade to not lock all the way open, its very hard to do on this knife. the amount of pressure you need to overcome the detent is enough to propel the blade all the way open. Yea i know this is an odd thing to do but i love seeing the blade fly open when i apply just enough power to overcome the detent. I dont know how to describe it but sometimes it looks like there has to be some secondary force involved like a spring for the blade to be able to open like that. It actually looks fake sometimes, the blade is moving too slow for it to be under its own power. if i was it in a video i would think it was fake for sure.
the only way i can get the blade to not lock open is to hold it vertical so the blade has to go against gravity. with a blade this smooth you might be worried about a loose lockup but it is rock solid with absolutly zero play

i dont like the Hinderer ZT knives because i dont like how one side is silver and the other black. i like my knives to have the same color on both sides and preferably the same material (thats one thing im not crazy about on the 0804cf since one side is carbon fiber and the other titanium, but since they are both black they are close enough that it doesnt bug me) However i hear great things

I wish the op lived near me so i could let him play with my Rexford ZT knives, if you held one you would have a hard time not buying one IMO

i think in the end i will like the 0804cf better, its hard to say for sure because its new so im a little biased about liking my new knife. once the novelty of a new knife wears off then i will be able to tell which one i like better. But it has a bigger blade and is made out of a better steel (it has a 3.9" CTS-204p blade where the 0801 has a 3.5" Elmax blade) even though its a bigger knife The 0804cf is also lighter at 5.1oz vs the 0801 at 5.8oz
