What's your grail traditional?

Probably a nice condition old Robeson Pocketeze Jack, Spear blade. Something like this, pic is Charlie Noyes'.

This one by Mr. Erickson is about as close to perfection as a knife can get for me. The eureka frame is superb to look at and has a great feel in hand. I think my version would have a clip instead of spear but that coping blade, it makes the knife just perfect. Its got all the right dimensions and being single spring I can only imagine how well it vanishes in the pocket.

:D

I'll take one of those with a clip point instead of a spear.

There is only one.......

A nice, minty, Mod. 0.8241.20, Victorinox, Silver Cross, Red ALOX Farmer with brass liners and Vic SSR Tang Stamp.

I have one of these with 25+ years of mileage on it (some of it mine) and I love it for EDC (still tight and snappy)....but I want a really, really nice one to complete my Red ALOX collection.

There are GEC's, Old Timers and Cases that I want......but that one singular Red Farmer (super condition + affordability) tis the one I seek....

This one was my Grail, but now I own it:

Victorinox stag handled Swisschamp with toothpick and tweezers.

Right now? Boker Coke Bottle Jack.

Here's what I'm talking about:

I've had my grail since Grandpa gave it to me in 1969. This Primble is one of the only knives Grandpa didn't grind to a toothpick! Been told by the experts here that it is likely from the late 30's, early 40's.

The Erickson Eureka pen up there would do the trick for me if I could have it with half-stops and something like CPM-M4. It would be unrealistic to think I wouldn't put a Bose cattle knife or lockback whittler with ivory/CPM-440V near the top of the heap. But in a more realistic tax bracket, I'm pretty much set with the Radio Knife for the time being. It really nails most of my needs and wants.

My grail is the next knife heading my way. I'm fortunate to be able to satisfy my knife lusts so far. I am waiting to receive my next acquisition monday the 23rd, a Queen peanut in bark ivory, my Christmas gift from my wife.

I would take any Ryuichi-Kawamura, Ohta, or Bose

This T. Bose is one I stare at when I'm dreaming ( not my picture )

Probably not what you had in mind, but this knife is as close to perfection a man-made thing can be. It is a true grail, the only one existing in the entire world.

- Christian

Christian, I love seeing that one over and over. Mikey nailed that one. I am looking forward to seeing what he brings to the Little Rock Show.. if you ever get the chance you should make the Little Rock Show.

There are some beautiful images of some wonderful knives here.

For me I would say my grail knife would be a pristine Wostenholm Senator in MOP from the late 1800's, Four blade with the nail file. I may never ever hold one but thats what makes it a grail knife right?

Chris

I don't know that I like the term "grail" knife, but I do know that the clip point soup bone Charlows haunt my dreams. Ever since I first saw one I've known that I MUST have one. Unfortunately, I'm always late to the party and seem to miss out on everyone/batch that comes up. One day...one day...

Don't know if it qualifies as a grail knife, but it is the one that I've been trying to locate for the past several months - that's why it's in my signature.

Anything by Don Hanson III, Like a Don Hanson Damascus Pirate Folder, with Orange Fossil Walrus Ivory.

Seems every knife I buy is THE knife. That's why I've started buying old U.S.A. made knives in batches that way I have several to choose from.
