What's Your Grail

I believe that those are Mike Thourot customs in INFI. From about 2005? maybe, I don't know if he got INFI blanks from Jerry, or if it was a straight up collaboration. Either way, mmmmmmmmmmm, sexy. Good call tree herder!

ETA: Beat By 3min while typing! Damn my caveman typing!

Well - like others I have aquired a few of my "Grails" over time and of them these are two that have stayed :) ...and are still my Grails :)

Currently I am waiting to see what comes out of the shop next and the Basics are looking pretty cool

Wow thats an oldie! Great score bro; a user to boot. Have fun!

Ya - I just love them old junky blades - so if anyone has some just junking up your storage area - let me know and I will take them off yours hands...Heck I will even pay for the shipping :);)

I don't recall ever seeing a dedicated thread from jerry on the Thorout customs shown here. I saw one go up for sale on in the exchange, and occasionally they are mentioned, but not very often.

There was a dedicated thread for the piano key's and the grand piano:

Mike Thourot made this "One & Only" Grand Piano Key to match a HOG's regular piano key!!! Holy Crappin' Thunder this is the shiniest, highest polished knife I have EVER seen!!!! It is blinding!!! Nice job Mike!!!!

Here's another shot. . . .

My good friend Mike Thourot and I collaborated on just 5 of these for the BLADE Show. . . ..

The picture does not do this blade justice. Mike polished these hollow ground blades so high that it is nearly impossible to get a good pic of them. . . . .

The bolsters are made out of MP45 (Busse Stealth Hawk material) and the handles are made out of ivory micarta. . . .

They are the highest polished pieces of INFI that I have ever seen. . . .

BLADE Show selling price = $327.00!!!!!   A Dwayne Puckett "Leatherman" custom sheath will be included!!!

Good luck to those who try for one of these. . . .They will be available starting at noon on Friday, so if you can't make it to the show, be sure to email me at jerry@bussecombat.com to reserve one for yourself.

Thanks,

Jerry

and, just for the sake of posting them (they aren't grails for me, the bowie has a choil and the chuckchete isn't my style, though if I ever win the lotto I'll order a super heavy/long chopper)
Dan Busse's forged INFI bowie:

I would definitely take a 1 handed thinned out version of that beater green ak47 though.

The BF auction knife that Jaxx is holding onto for me:p
...with a 10" blade since I'm wishing:thumbup:

Ok. I just wanted props on that. It turned out really sweet. You must have some pull at Busse cause I never got mine yet. It sure is sweet! Congrats on that Grail!

Do you really think that an asymmetrical Basic is your unique idea?

Like some who have been around a while I have been lucky and managed to acquire my grails ...

The Nuclear TTKZ ...

The Basic 9 ...

What makes them "grails" is how well they work ... each has it's own strengths ... the B9 is my lightweight belt knife ... the NTTKZ my ultimate chopper

People ask regularly "if you could only have one ?" ... the answer for me is "No" ... I need two

Here's one that didn't get away. Probably the first I can say had Grail status.

SHMB 1/300 doesn't she have the sweetest swedge. Nice warm micarta. Man if you have never held one of these you have never truly held a knife. No offense to anyone, but if you have held one you will know what I mean.
