Nice, and with boxes.

I've been looking for a decent priced xT3b. And when I say decent I mean cheap.:D

Sorry, I can't help you there. I sold the Fat Boy Skinner and the XT2B a few years ago. The camp knife resides underneath the back seat of my truck.

Oh I wasn't propositioning you. Just making conversation.

Yes the XT1B would make a good truck knife to go along with the SBR.

My comment is largely but not completely based on political/economic/historical opinion which I am not allowed to share at length on this forum. This is not an apology.
I understand, and feel the same way. I have a hard time liking anything Taylor puts out.

This is a Schrade Thread, I often wonder why we keep seeing the name Taylor on this Thread.
Hi Saddebum, what would be a good price to pay for those XT knives, they look to be a very good used knife. Ken

Speaking of XT's just got this SXT3B on the bay.

paid way too much though at $7.58 not sure if it will break me or not. and that is with a sheath pictured.

What do you guys have against Taylor Brand? i mean i like my old schrades to but when they bought them they didn't exactly run the company in the ground they made a lot of improvements

Taylor knives are Taylor knives. They are not Schrade knives. They are made for Taylor overseas (Taylor is a merchant, not a maker) and marked with nostalgia markings. But they still aren't Schrades. And except for occasional comparison to differentiate between the Taylor knives and Schrade, we don't discuss them here.

Over the years there has been knives made in the USA, Germany and China, etc.
Taylor Brand sell knives, Schrade stopped making knives back in 2004.
This manufacture's Forum is excursively dedicated to Schrade knives made by that company.
If you like the knives sold by Taylor, go find a Taylor Forum.
I often go to the Buck Forum, and post there about my Buck knives... I hope this has answered your question.

I do not understand why the majority of the replies to Highlander have an aggressive 'edge' to them. This says more about the poster than about Highlander.
Yes, this is a forum for knives manufactured by Schrade and many when first coming here do not realize this and need to be informed. However this can be done in a kind and gracious way. There is no need for 'put downs'. Schrade collectors used to have more 'class' than to be rude.

I don't think (and hope) anybody meant to be rude. It's just that most collectors of the true U.S.A. made Schrade still have a bitter taste in their mouth's from the way Taylor handled this by buying the time honored Schrade name and running directly over seas to have it produced.
I hope this helps explain the way most of us feel about Taylor.
I hope Highlander 20026 understands better now, and is still welcome to come here to seek out information, and hopefully find some of the real Schrades to post here.
Peace. :)

If I was you I would just let it go. Your comments about Taylor knives is probably what offended the Schrade collectors more than the picture. They are out of place here on this forum that is about Schrade knives and I think it has been articulated very well by Codger, Ballenxj and others why we are having a little 'snafu' here. There are some strong emotions about the subject of Taylor Brands buying up Schrade trademarks and stuff and taking it to China. Some of those emotions can even be traced back to American patriotism. A 100 year old American icon in knife manufacturing has been reduced to crap made in China. Speaking for myself, that really sticks in my craw. We Schrade collectors even have some division amongst us over pre-war and post-war knives and things like that and types of knives we like to collect or think are collectable. But one thing that I think all Schrade collectors have in common is a mutual, shared disdain for Taylor Brands. That and this forum is for Schrade manafactured knives only. It's just time to let it go, by all involved, and move on.

I really couldn't say what a good price is for these knives today. I have long since quit watching them. The knives in the pictures were in new condition when the pictures were taken. I bought them in 2006, two from ebay and the XT2B drop point bladed knife I got in a sporting goods store for the retail price of $35. I kept the large camp knife because it is so useful. It cuts and it chops. A very good knife for building wind breaks and general camp use. Something of a survival or emergency knife. I do really like the handles on these knives. They aren't pretty, but they have a really good grip and feel really good and secure in the hand. Well designed for their intended purpose. It shows Schrades marketing savy, making good knives for us Walmart hunters and campers. :D
