What's your morning eye opener of choice?

Once apon a time my morning eye opener was a 2-4 mile run and various sets of pushups and situps. Good hard excercise wakes me up quick. Now a RockStar every now and again gets me going.

How can you people drink so much coffee?

I drink about 10-20 cups of coffee a year, sometimes less than that.

Don't mind a cup every now and then but every day...*blech*

I hope you all use breath mints after 'cos coffee breath is nasty!

Coffee--my wife and I generally get a 20oz dark roast with 4 shots of espresso tosssed in. I'm drinking one right now in fact.

You folks are nuts! I've never been a fan of coffee. Used to drink alot of pop, but one summer I just got sick of it and quit. Didn't touch it for a long time and after I got over the caffeine I felt a lot better. Now I might drink a pepsi/coke once in awhile if I'm out somewhere, but I hate how the caffeine makes me feel 9 times outa 10 its just water for me now. Just one can of mountain dew is enough to make my hands shake

I use to start the day with coffee, before I joined BF.
Now, I start the day with BF and look at all the crap someone said about me after I went to bed, and that gets my blood pumping.
Then a little whine and cheese for breakfast...and I'm good to go.

P.S. I lied...I still like coffee.

I like a cup of something hot in the morning:

• coffee
• tea
• latte

As I've aged I've found that caffeine in the afternoon keeps me awake at night, so it's decaf coffee or tea after lunch. I also drink a large amount of water. I try to get 80 oz. in each day. No more carbonated beverages since my stomach surgery last September. Haven't really missed soda pop, but it's tough watching my chums drink really good dark German beer or Irish stouts.

Doesn't wake me up, but does keep the hypertension down.

Seriously, just the OJ. If I'm really dragging, which is rare,I have a cup of coffee mixed with a packet of cocoa mix, sugar, and cream

I gave up pop years ago and have been much happier for it.

everyone around me knows not to bother me till after at least my first cup of coffee...

I go through around 2 pots a day myself... and my cheap stuff is 10usd/lbs.

I get my coffee in large orders and vacuum pack it when it comes. Still 'fresh' 2-3 months later(if it's even there still). In the last year I've spent at least 1000usd on coffee.

I figure that $2-3 a pot is a lot better than spending $3 for a 12oz from Tim Hortons or spending more from any coffee place.

morning routine: upright, grab beans from shelf, grind up 1oz, start pot... check email... pour coffee... *slowly* become human. Concious thought starts around 3rd cup.

Roasted coffee starts going stale in 3-4 days, no matter what you do to try and preserve it. The stuff you are buying already roasted is stale before you get it if you are having it shipped.

Green beans last up to 2 years. I roast twice a week and drink it all as expresso. If you start roasting your own beans and find out what fresh roasted coffee is like you will be hooked.

Waiting till after I've got an education before I start roasting my own beans. no need to start an addiction that will have to go on hold when I can't afford it. I already can't stand the cheap sh|t everyone here drinks(folgers, maxwell, hills bros)...
