What's your most expensive user??

The most expensive knife I carry is my little beat up Hammer Brand serpentine jack. I say its the most expensive because it led me to wanting bigger, better, custom knives. If I didn't have that decent little slipjoint for so many years (its in my pocket now, actually), I would have never appreciated all the custom knives I own, carry and make now.

So, all of you, look back at your first edc and realize that it is the most expnsive knife you ever had.

But, I carry custom fixed blades every day, the rotation changes, but they are all custom.

I have a large micarta sebenza insingo that is now in my rotation. I'll use it for anything that is a knife and not a prying task. I usually carry a cheap beater for times when I'm pretty sure the edge might get grenaded.

I agree with whomever said buying a lightly used knife is a great way to use a nice knife without fear of blemishing it.

That lower knife is a thing of beauty. May I inquire as to it's size? It's really too bad that fixed blades are considered a no-no in Oklahoma.

It really is and I'm proud to own it. Blade is 4.5" of BG-42. OAL is 9.5".

Most expensive knife I have is a Ritter Mini-Grip w/ Wilkins handles. It's one of the regulars in my EDC rotation and does get used.

I might have to look into getting one. Even though I believe fixed blades are a no-no, one of the guys in our local gun organization usually has one on his belt, weak side. And I've been known to carry one as well, just not frequently.

The thing that would concern ME about carrying an expensive knife would be the idea of losing it. I mean, suppose one night a cop pulls me over and decides to "confiscate" my knife(even knives that are totally legal can be confiscated at the officer's discretion, and once that happens you're unlikely to ever see them again)? What if I get mugged and the dude decides to take my knife too(I'm no badass, if some dude has a gun on me, I'm not gonna tell him no)? What if I get sent to the hospital(car accident or whatever) and an orderly/nurse/emt/whatever decides to help themselves to my knife while I'm out? Hell, what if some freak occurrence happens and the knife just slips out of my pocket and gets picked up without me noticing? Yeah, I know all of these are really unlikely but still, just on that slim chance I'd find it extremely hard to carry and risk losing a several hundred dollar knife. Hell, I still feel wary carrying my Native, and that's just a $70 knife!

where do you live? If you live anywhere in the States and ever have an officer just try and confiscate something legal you damn well better ask them for a receipt! Then go in to the station when it's convenient, preferably with a letter from your lawyer, and raise hell.

That's the one reason I don't carry around my 0560 everyday. Here in NJ its too large for me to legally own it.

Benchmade 275 Adamas, serrated. Hard use knife that. I also have the plain edge but I have so many of those that I don't use the plain edge Adamas much. The Adamas is not really a slicer. I team it up with a Coyote Brown Delica with a plain VG-10 edge...quite a team!

I like to use my knives and don't have enough money to buy safe queens. So my most expensive right now is my ZT0350 (I know, not a strider or anything like that) then comes my BK 9
