Whats your most useful slipjoint

I'm the sensible minority. Just a small pen knife everyday. I have utility and kitchen knives in the proper places. But I do admit that the idea of collecting anything is lost on me. Carry on!

I probably use this the most at work or when I'm in the post office, doesn't get people stirred up against a knife, but makes them take a second glance since it's so pretty ;) but boy, she be sharp and the main blade is a true splinter picker! I know, as I've has to use that a lot during our work on our shed, just touch the shed and you end up with dozens of splinters everywhere!

Case Peanut, Ivy, the bone is laser cut with a nice pattern that helps with the grip, and the pattern continues onto both bolsters nicely!

My Victorinox Pocket Pal. It makes for a great mail/package opener, whittler, paring knife, steak knife, worry stone....

A medium Stockman or a medium Jackknife (3-1/2" to 3-7/8")- lean more towards the Stockman for the Sheepfoot. OH

I have large mits, so I like a larger knife. My favorite is my Bull Buster. Being old school, I don't care for synthetic handle materials, so mine has Osage Orange scales. It fits my hand well, and takes an amazing edge.

Hard not to see the sense in that. Thanks for your thread a few weeks ago about how well your Case "Eisenhower" performed. It inspired me to start carrying mine more.

Regards, Jeff

I was surprised at how much I liked carrying the whittler. The pen and coping blades get used way more often than I thought they would, and there's still the nice sized clip blade.

My most useful combo is stockman with punch. Two blades, main clip, secondary Spey or Sheepsfoot, and punch for non knife uses/boring. Get the blade specific focus of the knife, plus a bit of the tool versatility of the SAK. best of both worlds for me, although in theory my punch Whittler would be even better, if it wasn't a clumsy build, which I assume was a bored worker making something for himself!

GEC With punch/Clip/Spey is often the Stockman style pattern that gets the nod for in my scrubs if I get to pick my knife of the day- it's a big little knife!

I'd say my Vic Alox Cadet, and a Case Yellow/CV Pen knife.
I think those are the two least expensive I have. Go figure.

I personally favor the stockman, especially Case's 75 pattern which fills my hand quite perfectly. With the stockman I like the variety of different blade shapes to handle all my different types of cutting chores in my day to day useage. For example at work, when I go out in the field with a service order to locate a water meter because some yahoo decided to cover up the meter lid with new sod. I find the clip blade useful to cut out the outline of the meter lid from the new sod; the spey blade for my scraping tasks on metal or concrete imagine water meter lids not flushed due to vegetation and dirt slipping in. The mighty sheepsfoot blade to whittle during breaks and lunch at the bed of the city's work truck.

Another vote for the SAK Poineer, it's just so useful! My favorite blade shape, a fantastic bottle opener that doubles as a scraper/screwdriver (use this a lot!), the awl for poking holes in things, and that can opener...which I honestly don't find a ton of use for I guess....but it's nice to know I can open a can should the need arise. I love the Pioneer and its really all I've been carrying lately.

Nothing wrong about not collecting stuff (rather the other way round). I am trying to stay on the same track, though I do slip here and then :)

Zulu spear for me.
It does everything I need.
....

I've seen that Bose often on google Dr. Bill and wondered who owned it. Beautiful piece.

My most useful slipjoint..

The one that's on me ;)

But honestly I love a good clip point in the perfect size of 3 7/8 closed length.

The most useful pattern to me is the medium or small Stockman, I always have one or the other on me.
