What's your poison/cocktail of choice.

I'm with Rick on this one... IPA's and Kentucky Bourbon (not together mind you).

Occasionally when my budget allows: Anchor Steam beer and Old Bushmill's whisky.

To Quote Tom T. Hall, "I like beer". Must be the German heritage. I prefer German brews for the most part as well.

Red wines; a decent Cabernet or Merlot. I have never cared much for complicated concoctions or condiment liquors. Though a shot of Bailey's in coffee isn't bad.

Irish whisky. Bushmills seems to disappear pretty fast around here.

Although here's a fun recipe for great margaritas:

Ingredients:

*1 small can frozen Minute Made limeade (should make about 48 oz of limeade on the directions)

*4 corona lights

* 8-12 ounces of tequila (to taste)

Directions:

Make limeade, but instead of using water use the Corona Lights. Add tequila.

Serve over ice. Don't blend

Also Don't tell your friends it's made with beer until they beg you for the recipe. These margaritas taste awesome and they pack a pretty good wallop. They don't taste like beer either. The mild carbonation is refreshing.

Well, Maximus (and other interested Pirates)----I will certainly be bringing a few interesting bottles to Blade. I am sure that comes the time, we will be posting ideas of how we call all identify ourselves.

Depends...

For mixed drinks I usually go with Jägermeister and Coke, or rum and Coke. A good mix is Jäger, Bacardi 151 and Coke... very sweet.

Beer. Ah beer. I don't drink beer to get drunk, I probably couldn't get drunk on it anyway, makes me have to wee-wee. I like heavy, dark beer. My favorites are Beck's Dark, Tillburg's Dutch Brown, Highlands Gaelic (or just about anything from Highlands, their IPA is really really good), and Pete's Wicked Ale... Highlands and Pete's just about the only American beer I'll drink. Both are brewed locally. Highlands also makes an oatmeal porter that a Surefire would have a hard time shining through.

The local BP station has a great selection and a friend and I were looking one evening. I hear her get all excited and jumping up and down and calling my name. I go over to see what the fuss is all about. And there it was... Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale. She and I both bought one just for the novelty of it... but it was damn good beer. I went back for another several days later.

There's a great little pizza place here in Sylva that has just about all Highlands products on tap... good stuff, good stuff.

I really hate to admit it, because I have a bit of pride in my high standards for beer... but I really like Miller High Life. It's nice on a hot day where a heavy beer will just make you go to sleep.

Red wine, Dark beer, Irish Whisky (Bushmills or Tyreconnell), Cuban Rum (7 year old Havana Club, yes we can get that over here). Tequila (Siete Leguas añejo or other traditionaly made) Mezcal (from Oaxaca or Guerrero, too bad the old Jaral de Berrio from Guanajuato isn't available any more. And never mind the worm, it's just for marketing).

I drink a rum and coke or two. ;)

By which of course I mean that I drink it enough that pretty much everyone in the local bar I go to knows thats what I drink. I have no need to order the drink, just tell them how many I want. :D

If I am at home it is usually SMS scotch though.

Mostly beer...and mostly Beck's beer. When I feel like a mixed drink, it's usually a Scotch sour on the rocks... no fruit! Like it made with JW red label.

If it's a lager beer I prefer Heineken above all others.

If it's the hard stuff straight-up I like vodka.
Monopolova or Luksusowa served ice-cold right out of the freezer--both are very nice potato vodkas.

If I'm drinking a mixed cocktail usually it's a Rusty Nail.
Sometimes I'll opt for a Bloody Mary or a Tom Collins.

Cheers,
Allen.

I like to wake up tiramisu or zabaglione with good shots of sambucco and three beans followed by an espresso chaser after a fine Italian meal.

Fine sake (hot or cold) or awamori works as well. I'd rank a good awamori up there with a good single malt scotch any day. (And I love aged single malts!)

No alcohol here... I enjoy a nice Strawberry julius thing:

1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 TBL Spoon Vanilla
1/2 can of strawberry breeze juice or whatever it is
Blender full of ice

They go really well with a nice Ashton cigar  :D

Edit: Just as a service to who gave me a rep... Not a sissy drink. Quite enjoyable. Ohh yeah.. You're shooting blanks too

Belgian Ales, Chimay Grande Reserve, Gulden Draak, Grande Crue of the Emporer. There are also some good Belgian Style Ales made here in North America, Trois Pistolas and my current favorite, Brother Davids Double from Anderson Valley.

My favorite flavor of beer is Scotch Ale. McEwans and Belhaven are great, and Sam Adams makes a good version.

As far as Scotch, McClellands is a reasonably priced single malt. It comes in 3 versions - Lowland, Highland and Islay (Island). The Islay is an aquired taste, since the peat they use to smoke the malt has a hint of sea salt. Great stuff on the rocks or neat.

Beer! Almost any brand or style. Except: diet beer, beer in cans, Coors.

I'm also a big fan of screwdrivers during the worst of the summer heat.

LOL, that's great! I got some of that for my brother since he's a big Holy Grail fan, it was a big hit. Of course he's not a beer drinker (well, he thinks Miller Lite is 'good' beer) and told me it was "bitter". I was not amused.

Not really...just heard that line in some movie which made me laugh. It gives insight to my sense of humor.

I lost the habit of drinking for many years, and I'm now trying to regain it. Looked at my life and decided that was my problem.
I've always been just a Beer drinker, so this year I've taken up a new hobby of Home Brewing. I've done 2 five gallon batches that have come out excellent, and my brother-in-law has been serving up most of it to his dinner guest, so it has to be the best form of compliment.
I still don't drink as much as I should, but its still fun seeing my freinds enjoy the Beer I've brewed.

My favorite salute is to raise a mug and say Strobovia...I don't think it means anything...just an honor to my old favorite Beer.
I'm also reminded of a German salute made at wedding receptions. I can say it in German, but I can't spell it...they raise a stein o'beer and say....OH..how happy is the Bride, when the sack hits the crack !! :D

CUBA LIBRE!
Black Seal Rum
Diet Coke
Fresh squeezed lime juice
or
Lagavulin/rocks

Scrumpy Jack Cider, Becks lager and sometimes a reasonable Scotch, nothing too fancy just a Glenmorangie or Glenfiddch
