So ill be taking a road trip here soon, and I was think which blade do I want to take with me. So i'd figure if you guys were taking a road trip or even extended road tri what blade would you take ? Either fixed or folding is fine just curious about you guy's answers

Mine is my leatherman charge tti. The idea being it is useful and also that it is sheeple friendly if i need to use it in a roadhouse or in a picnic area.

Since you are propably going with backpack or car, no harm taking small fixed blade with folder just in case. Anything easy to maintain that works good for you should work!

no man what would the blade you would take on a road trip lol

If I'm on a motorcycle, it's always a Benchmade AFCK. in ATS-34 because I've always carried that on bike trips. In a car I use whatever is my newest large folder.

what kind of motorcycle sorry if offtopic I ride myself

Kawasaki KLR 650.

I'll have one of the Spydercos, or maybe a Benchmade folder in the pocket, and a Leatherman tool on the belt. In my carry bag, I'll have several other knives. You just never know.

It depends on where I'm going. If it's truly a road trip and thus no flying (and no TSA) then it will usually be one of my normal EDC folders, most likely something unassisted that won't generate any headaches if I have to explain my reason for carrying it. Something that suggests "hardware store" like a Leatherman Crater is my preference in that case. The answer changes quite a bit if I'm on a hiking trip, or going to be walking around someplace where I want something for defensive use but can't carry a firearm. Then it's most likely a sheathed folder like a Gerber Gator or Benchmade Adamas for the former, or a Kershaw RJI (a personal favorite) for the latter.

I always pack my ESEE-3 and Spyderco Dragonfly2 - those two get paired with either my CQC-15 or one of my Combative Edge blades.
Oh yeah - and the Leatherman Juice gets thrown in the bag as well.

Victorinox SwissChamp and Buck 110/Cold Steel Mackinac Hunter/Spyderco Paramilitary 2/Cold Steel Recon 1.

I have a super tinker that's always on me unless there is a legal issue. That's my base, I add to that if I need to.

If I'm doing something that might require regular use of a knife and I don't what to dig in my pockets I'll add something with a clip.

If I'm doing something that involves carrying a back pack or packing a bag I'll add my wave.

If I'm in a car: Folder on me, fixed and SAK in my bag.
If I'm on my bike with a pack: Folder on me, fixed and SAK in my bag.
If I'm on my bike w/o a pack: Folder on me.
